This restaurant appears to have been closed? We have driven by this place 3 times in the past two weeks, and the restaurant was closed. This is hands down the best Mexican/Central American restaurant in Brooklyn with fresh, authentic, flavorful cuisine and friendly services. We ordered from Tacos El Ray for over 10 years and haven't had a single disappointing experience.

An overall great experience. The food is authentic, the staff is very friendly and attentive, and the place makes you feel welcome. The food is served fresh. There is plenty on your plate, and the menu is extensive enough that you really want to go back to try more and more. A really great place well worth a visit.

Came here after a great Brighton beach day because we'd already tried the overrated Spubunky Gardens and wanted something better. The food here was awesome - loved the cecina (salted beef) tacos and the shrimp cocktail especially, but the sandwiches and platters looked great as well. I wish they let you choose two different tacos for the combos but that isn't a big deal. Service was very quick and friendly too on a hot busy day.

Couldn’t find any taco trucks in the area but found this gem going for a drive to the beach. Was doubtful but once I had a bite, my taco standards were raised a seriously large notch. Paid total of about $26 for 2 orders of carne asada and 2 grilled chicken tacos to go. Mind you each order comes w 2 tacos so a total of 8 tacos. Worried I overpaid but too hungry to argue, I asked the manager if he thought the order was enough for 3. He was well over 200 lbs and said he usually just orders ONE order. ??? That confused me as I imagined he would say something to make me want to buy more. I also asked if they came with any guacamole and maybe I should order some. Many penny pinching places will try to charge extra for salsa, guac or anything else if they could. “Yes” he replied, “guacamole is included.” Oh boy did it! Each taco, the size of a fat fist, was topped with a thick layer of delicious avocado mix. Filled inside each 2 corn tortillas were good portions of the meats along with cilantro and other ingredients. Flavored just right (not over salted!) I was in taco heaven. They were so good that I didn’t even see the bag of fresh cut turnips and lime they packed! Disappointed in myself for missing them, I was very impressed by the quality and all the additions. If they had served on a plate, it would have been much better than some of the overpriced Mexican meals in the UES. 5 stars. Want to return already. Note: they did take a good 15 minutes to prepare. I felt guilty walking in and out but had to check on my double-parked car then return again for the AC.

great little place by our house to satisfy my Mexican food cravings in a predominantly Russian area. I have not had a sit down dinner here, just delivery/takeout which was always great. and the chicken is cute (see photo)

We had a good time. Good service and they give you nice extras like chips with guac, salsa, and sour cream while you're waiting. Plus other extra things like sauerkraut (which we thought was delicious) and radishes and limes. What we ordered was very very spicy though so beware. If anything, have a plan B option to order instead. The atmosphere and decorations are nice (don't forget to look at the ceiling). I just wish they had some type of dessert on the menu

I had fish tacos, rice and beans, chips and guac, and a pineapple soda. It was delicious and fresh; every bite was amazing. The fish was cooked very well, and the spices complemented the fish perfectly. As for the service, it was great. The waitress was nice, and got our food out fast. I asked for no cheese on my taco, and it arrived the way I asked. I don't remember any loud music.

Such an amazing place! I didn't wait something special from it, but we just walk around to find some place to eat at 11.00 pm and it was amazing! I enjoy taco shrimp and they have great guacamole for free!
