Salem' Hour

Small cute location. We had their brunch prefix menu and sat outside. This was perfect since it was on the shaded side and there was a nice breeze. I had the waffles which were light and fluffy with berries. The home fries were a bit different than what I’m use to as they were smashed up but they were still good. The mimosas were strong for me but I just asked for more juice. They do offer different flavors if u don’t want orange. My friend opted for the guava and had the quesadilla which was also good! Utensils and mugs were a bit dirty/spotty which bothered me a bit.

Already, at that young age, we were trying to cook and eat in a healthy way that replenished us while being in the road... . Eventually, I moved to Brooklyn and I fell in love with the neighborhood, the nostalgia, the shops, the houses, the people, and the culture. When we decided to launch Salem’s Hour; we wanted to create something that made people in the neighborhood feel like they were at home. Growing up I was raised on southern hospitality, meaning as soon as someone entered the house, mom would offer you something to eat or drink. I carried this mentality into my service concept. My team and I are family. Whenever we need help, we're there for each other. Some of our team have small children, and finding child care can be tough at times. If someone needs to bring their son or daughter to work it's our job to be there for them. Seriously, we're family and we’ll always find a way. . To me, family is everything. It's no coincidence that this place shares the name of my daughter Salem. I wanted to offer the same type of food that I'd make for her at home. My wife and I were accustomed to eating organic food, so it was only natural that the menu at Salem’s Hour reflected the same caliber of food that my family ate. It’s definitely tough running an organic restaurant and, though it's rare, you can find yourself thinking, "if I just switched a few items, it would be so much easier." But, frankly, I didn't sign up for "easy", moreover I'll never compromise on my values. Roll me home in a wheelbarrow! The french toast was divine! The french press coffe was superb. The staff was super friendly. A wonderful experience.

Excellent food. I’ve never had a bad dish here. I’ve had the quesadillas, nachos, & next up will be the mac & cheese! Drinks are reasonable, & entire staff is super friendly.

Glad we decided to pop in here in our walk home. Drink selection could be better. Based on other reviews and past menus, our expectations weren’t exactly met in that department. However, we ordered the burger and Brussels sprouts and were very impressed. Best burger I’ve had in a while. And the salad on the side was delish as well. Chef was super nice and checked on us. Would definitely recommend checking out.
