My favorite Vietnamese sandwich spot for many many years. A little gem! Always those kind ladies there, service and quality of the food never changed! The butter hero it’s a heaven,I usually choose that or the fresh veggie sandwich. Vietnamese coffee very delicious if you like a stronger one. They have couple of tables you can seat down and eat there. Usually I just pick up and take it to go..If we are in Brooklyn my family always pick up here something to eat.
Absolutely phenomenal sandwich and the cold drink was unbelievable (honeydew milk). Made with so much love that it satisfies instantly. Amazing local business.
the bread is done right here — toasted, shatters when you bite into it, hulled out in the middle, good ratio of meat to veg
I got the shredded chicken and felt stuffed
Delicious food, fast service and friendly staff. This is my third time since finding them last week. Can’t recommend them enough and great value for money.
I’ve had the number one, the tuna bahn mi, the escargot and fried noodles. The ice lemon pickle drink and Vietnamese coffee are great too. The lemon drink is sour and salty though so just beware it’s not for everyone. Everything has been so delicious.
If you like a good Banh Mi (Vietnamese Sandwich), this is a spot you can not miss out. Their sandwich is affordable ($7.5), and super tasty. Also, they have other Vietnamese snacks that are delicious and one should definitely give it a try.
Always my go-to spot for bahn mi. I still believe this is the best bahn mi place in NYC. The ladies are always super nice and quick. 2023 pricing ~ $8.50
This no frills shop has the best banh mi in NYC! Light, crispy baguette, and perfect bread-to-filling ratio. Classic and grilled pork options are great, but my favorite is the meatball sandwich, hands down. The savory and peppery meatball is a perfect complement to the fresh cilantro and pickled veggies. Their vietnamese iced coffee is one of the best I've had: rich, creamy, and flavorful, without being too sweet. I also love the iced lemon tea, which is incredibly refreshing and perfectly balanced.
cash only; some tables inside; you can order in english, mandarin, or cantonese and im assuming probably also vietnamese.
i got the bahn mi #8, and the ice lemon tea (#4 on the drinks menu) and it was $11. both tasted really refreshing, and i waited about ten minutes total on the line and for the food. definitely recommend!!
I’ve eaten a fair number of banh mi sandwiches across Vietnam, and at most of the decent shops in NYC…and I can confidently say that Ba Xuyen wins for the best and most authentic banh mi sandwich in all of NYC. It is very much worth the trip to Sunset Park, and is a must have if you’re in the neighborhood. The baguettes that they use for the sandwiches are just heavenly fresh and crispy - so good that they retain their freshness for the next 1-2 days (so I’ll buy a few sandwiches to eat as my lunch the next day). The price can’t be beat — most sandwiches run from $6-7 each, and they are generous with portions and use fresh ingredients. I highly recommend #1 for the classic combination banh mi sandwich, and my wife loves #9 for the grilled chicken banh mi. The shop is very unassuming and the ladies preparing sandwiches behind the window are brisk but friendly, and they speak English. Tip them well and keep supporting this local gem. Businesses like these are what make NYC the greatest city to live in.
This small restaurant seems to be a neighborhood favorite. You will find lots of customers awaiting their sandwiches during the lunch hour, but any hour you will see people going in and out. The staff are welcoming. A variety of Asian sweets treat and snacks are available. I have been a returning customer, particularly for the avocado shake 🤤.
