Ali's Roti Shop

I heard about them on google and decided to give them a try. I came all the way from the Bronx to see what it was about. So far I have only tried the doubles and the aloo pie and I was not dissappointed. It really reminded me of home cooked food. The ingredients were tasty and hot and the service was excellent. Diana was the lady at the register and she did a good job behind the counter. I will be back again to try the other variety of dishes they have. I give them an A.

I recently purchased the curry chicken with vegetable fried rice, and I must say it exceeded my expectations! A delightful surprise was the introduction of seamoss to my palate, and it quickly became a new favorite. The infusion of nutmeg and the delightful texture from the small chunks of seamoss added a unique and delicious twist to the dish. Moreover, the staff and cashier were exceptionally friendly, creating a positive dining experience. Despite the inconvenience of a long line, it only reinforced my belief that the food is truly worth the wait. The overall combination of flavors, coupled with the warm and welcoming service, makes this place a definite must-visit.

I bought curry chicken with vegetable fried rice and it did not disappoint! I tried the seamoss for the first time and i LOVED it!!! I loved tasting the nutmeg as well as the little chucks on seamoss. The staff and cashier was so darn pleasant. The long line is annoying BUT that tells me the food is worth waiting for.

Our first time eating rotis, and we were not disappointed. Everything was tasty and cooked/stewed to perfection. A word to newbies: the menu does *not* list rotis as an option, so look online and get up to the counter prepared to order. The woman serving us was impatient and annoyed with our lack of familiarity, and did not want to take time to explain to us what our options were. Now that we know what and how to order, we'll be ready for next time, though -- and we will be back!

I had a music video shoot call time of 6:00. Got there, but decided to wait until 7:45 since it is a night shoot. I asked for a good place to get some food. I was directed to Ali's First thing I do is look at the cleanliness of a business. As soon as I walk into a place, I check out how clean it is and I always look at where the food is at. The food was well presented and it wasn't sloppy and food all over the place. Everything look neat and clean. I also make a quick rundown of the workers. I look at their outfits. Are They wearing gloves and so on. The food was well presented and the staff answered questions. She even when it's far to ask if that what I chose looked good. It did. . The person in front of me ordered rice and chicken with macaroni pie on the side. When he got to the counter, the man didn't realize the macaroni pie was part of his order. He told him don't worry about it just put it in the bag. I thought that was super cool. I paid for my order and asked if he had any non-carbonated drinks because everything in the cooler look like soda. He gave me a drink for free from behind the counter. There's a fountain there. Again super cool. Especially as a first time patron, this is a wonderful memory I ordered pasta with curry chicken on top. It was good. Not very spicy and not very salty. A lot of times these places drown their food with salt. It tasted good and I left none. I got roti skin with it, because how can you eat this without roti skin of course. The roti skin was warm and soft all the way through. Every bite was a delight. I almost definitely hit this place up again when I'm in a neighborhood. It is now on my list!

Finally decided to give Ali a try, I've been craving Roti for a while. I can say I'm slightly disappointed more by the amount of meat they put in it than by the food itself. I had 1 Dhal Puri Chicken, 1 Goat Roti, and 2 Skins, I can say everything was DELICIOUS 😋! Get the Shrimp Roti too with their spicy sauce, 😋 Unfortunately they give you a lot of big pieces of potatoes and not enough meat to cover the whole roti, and this makes some part of the Roti filling feels dry. Their Roti is pretty massive 😍. They have inside sitting and you can pay with your debit or credit card. I will go back and pay more attention to the way they put the filings in.

Would be a five...the roti itself was good..maybe a lil more seasoning in the curry chicken. Now I haven't been here in yearsssssss and you mean to tell me there still hasnt been a second step built outside? As I stand and watch the elderly struggle to step up and down. Add a step!!!! And then there were no menus or prices listed 🤔🤔 What's going on?

I ordered the fish for my lunch. They put it in a platter and ket the roti on the side. I think the fish was thr best choice from what my other coworkers ordered. It was crispy and sweet. The lentils were excellent to soppy roti in. I wish they served more veggies instead of the multiple starch items.
