Our group came for brunch on a Saturday and felt well looked after. We had children and the staff were very accommodating. We loved the booths and the food was delicious. Our group had a combination of breakfast and lunch options and all dishes were very tasty. The pancakes were our favourite, so light and fluffy! Our server looked after us, making sure our coffee was topped up and we felt very relaxed. Can’t wait to return.
I stopped by yesterday for the first time for a quick breakfast. Since this restaurant has recently changed its name to Mike's Royal Diner, I could see that they are making modifications to the inside of the restaurant. The waitstaff is friendly and the food came out pretty fast. I was amazed on the large portion size of my Italian Omelette. I really got my monies worth with that meal since it filled me up for breakfast and lunch! They are making changes to the prices on the menu, but from what I see it is pretty darn reasonable. The only thing is that the bathroom is a tad small and there really isn't too much room. Overall, I would definitely come here again the next time I am passing through the area.
First time coming here today since the new owner took over. The place looks really nice, but bathroom still needs work. Food was good. Sharon was my server and she was very nice. Nice to know that it’s still good now that George is no longer there. Hope it stays around because I have been a Royal’s customer for about 30 years when I lived in Bay Ridge.
Great food, warming atmosphere. The crew are super accommodating and make you really feel at home. Favorite comfy diner in the neighborhood.
NY diners are a dying breed, COVID really hit the diner scene hard and I lost a couple of go to diner's. Mikes royal diner is one of my favorite spots, I try not to give such a great review because I don't want to cause issues with being able to get a table, but they are fully equipped to handle the crowd. There were occasions where there were no seats and I believe our wait time was 6 min. I stand by the crispiness of the bacon, and they get it right all the time.
Once in a while, we hit this diner for a late breakfast. The food is good, the portions are large and the staff is very friendly. It has a typical Greek diner layout and decor. Unlike another diner that i used to go to on 3rd Ave and the 80's (i wont mention the other diner's name), Mike's Diner accepts credit cards, is more spacious and less expensive.
Service and food is exactly what you expect from a classic diner. The waffles are crispy and fluffy, pancakes are fluffy too but have a light and creamy finish with some whipped butter and table syrup. Prices are very affordable. This our new go to for diner in a ten block radius.

If you have any interest in eating at a classic diner, Royal Restaurant is just the place. The food is prepared to order and the prices are low considering the portions. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful.
Perhaps the biggest attraction to this place is the feeling of stepping back in time and witnessing the local regulars as they come and go. The staff seemed to know them all by first name!
Solid meal good portion and decent price. Bacon was a little over done but everything else was on point
