Imani Bar & Kitchen

My husband & I made an impromptu decision to take a couple of friends that were visiting from out of town. All persons must be present before you are seated. This helps in keeping the tables more available. The food was excellent, and the service was superb. We sat upstairs, which was very comfortable for the 4 of us. The atmosphere was great with reggae music in the background... loud enough to enjoy but low enough to have a conversation. The waiter was very knowledgeable about each dish on the menu.

We came for lunch/brunch on a dreary, rainy Sunday and I’m grateful it wasn’t packed! They had a table for 8 within minutes and our waitress was so kind and patience with us. Loved the food and portions! The ambience and playlist felt like home. I would definitely go back next time I’m in Brooklyn. They were out of shrimp and grits so I’d want to try that.

I will have to say this was an absolutely amazing experience. I will say GO GO GO AND GO AGAIN. The food was amazing. Upstream Scotty was the salmon with the plantain and jasmine rice and this was cooked to perfection. I wanted more afterwards. Oxtail was to die for. The mac and cheese was mouth watering. The ambiance of this place was great. It was a bit cold and we came during dinner time but overall I would say make your way over and order sides. Caught the itis afterwards and didn’t want to move. I will definitely make my way back as the area is walking distance from the Barclays center and you can do some sight seeing either before or after having a good time here. Service was solid but the food will definitely make me revisit this place more often. Thank you guys again for the great experience

My Queen and I had a extraordinary experience celebrating our anniversary at Imani Caribbean restaurant in BK this evening and we had a surprise pop by from our Brother Shaka which really made her day (grinning hard 😁). This place was amazing from greeting to ambience an cuisine that made impossible to choose from so we enjoyed more than we should have. Each dish was worthy of praise and our greeter and service from "E" made the evening a wonderful surprise for my Beloved wife. Big hit!

Beautiful restaurant, Isryel was a nice waiter. Escovitch Fish was delicious, just a tad bit spicy. My brother had the jerk chicken and he liked it. My jasmine rice was ok. I thought it would be white, but it was yellow with some added flavor. I ordered their strongest drink. The taste was fine, it had ice but it was still warm. If it’s premixed, it would be better to chill it before serving. I didn’t care for the oxtail croquettes- they weren’t nasty, just not delicious. Overall, I would definitely return to try more dishes !!

My girlfriends and I came here for drinks and dinner before a show. I've passed it several times and it was on my list to try for almost 2 years, I love carribean food- especially oxtail! I ended up with a pasta dish with oxtail and my friend got the oxtail stew with rice and peas- both were delicious and would highly recommend! My other 2 friends got the pork chops and the other the burger- We all very much enjoyed our meals. The vibe is lively and was perfect for our girls night out.

Prepare to walk up lots of steps, but I like the place overall. Unfortunately, the shorter older man our party had as a server we had was mediocre at best, but there was a talk dark-skinned gentleman who must have fine dining experience because he was awesome whenever he came around. The food came pretty quickly. The saltfish and ackee rolls are delicious and I love the spicy sauce it comes with. The fish tacos are decent. The so called friend snapper came very watery and didn't hit the spot at all. I didn't even eat it tbh. The restaurant past was delicious 😋 and my other friends had oxtail balls and loved them.

Yesterday evening, my partner, and I visited Imani. I love that on a Monday night I was able to get immediate reservations and get seated in the best of the best spot. My partner had the curry dish and I had the oxtail stew. Such delicious courses! Monday night is $7 dollar mimosas and they have an assortment of flavors. If you’re looking for my recommendations I choose pineapple mimosa, and the dragonfruit mimosa!
