First time in this tiny little cool place. Had Balmy sandwich and it was really good. They have only few kinda thing BUT all seems so good. It's for sure, i'll come back.
One of the best places in all of NYC. Been eating here for years. Better cookies than Milk next door - the chocolate nudge and molasses cookies are two of the all time greats. Amazing sandwiches and salads. Love the Clean Slate. Any other sandwich pales in comparison. Breakfast Burrito is a must.
We lived in Williamsburg and this was one of my favorite lunch spots in the area. The Scuttlebutt is the sandwich to get and has more flavor than perhaps any sandwich in the city. Don't be deceived by its small store front and small menu; their cookbook was featured nationally at Anthropologie and has wide acclaim. You won't be disappointed.
This is just the best sandwiches and salads we ate during our travel in new york! The combination of tastes is interesting, we just loved it !
The persons inside are very kindly, I recommend it and would like to have the same in Paris definitively !
Love this simple place. Get the ships biscuit. Best breakfast sandwich.
Ok fan since day one here. This is the epitome of a honestly run shop worth supporting. Food is never not stellar. They've topped major food lists for a while and too numerous to mention here by do yourself a favor. Order a ships biscuit to a scuttlebutt and thank me later. Long live one of the original pioneers of the new Brooklyn food movement. Forever in love with this place
They've mastered the sandwich here! The ingredients are top quality and everything is made by hand and so delicious (and of course, perfectly seasoned)! Know that you can't sit down here, despite spending $10 on a sandwich alone. Still... I crave Saltie's all the time!
In the running for best sandwiches in the entire city. The Balmy was A+, all the ingredients amazing and the bread is even better than it looks. All ingredients made in house, including the bread.
I've been coming here pre-Spuyten Duyvil for many years, and it has always provided necessary, delicious sustenance. If they only sold the focaccia bread with which they make the sandwiches, I would still come here. If you need to really pad yourself for a day of drinking, or quickly cure a hangover with fat and starch, the Spanish Armada can't be beat.
I really, really like these people, and love this little store. It's truly a neighborhood place where after a couple visits you'll be treated like a friend. I really liked the vegetarian sandwich and the lavender shortbread cookies, and if you're British you'll loooove the Eckles cakes. (Pastries subject to change without notice.)
