We love their sandwiches. Huge and many choices to pick from. The best sandwich place in brooklyn. Their fresh mozzarella cheese is to die for.
Great food great selection joe is a great guy offering esspesso and cookies after the sandwich. Awsome place to hang.
Guys
Must have immediately, 3 sandwiches, added hot peppers to the roast beef
I’m not the biggest eggplant fan but these guys got it thin crispy and delicious, chicken cutlet also was to die for
Highly recommend lives up to the hype
#67 roast beef with American. Hot peppers
#60 fried eggplant with mushroom stuffing
#71. Chicken cutlet with mozzarella and balsamic
The bread is THAT good
Happy holidays guys keep it up
I decided to check this place out for my last day in NYC after hearing about it online. I got the #115 hero and it was simply divine. The fresh mozzarella along with the prosciutto, Caesar dressing, and the rest of the toppings were so flavorful. It was gigantic so I ended up having to save half of it to eat later. Made for a nice next meal on my flight back home! If you’re visiting, do yourself a solid and do not skip Lioni’s. Trust me on this.
The bread and mozzarella are freshly made in-house every day, and you can really taste the difference, especially for the bread. The price is worth it! I will definitely come back here in the future.
The photo does not do it justice. Very good sandwich. I got #118 but with honey mustard instead balsamic mix
Oh man. Holy smokes, this place is IT for sandwiches. I got the #34 Rocky Graziano. It was huge and fresh and they didn’t skimp on any of it. Not only that, they take the sausages and put them through the deli slicer, giving you nice even pieces. I’ve never seen that done before. My friend got the #11a Joe Pepitone. That one was even better than mine, and it was STUFFED with eggplant. Man. Both were good the next day as well. Also got some rice balls which were decent, a focaccia which was good, and a black and white cookie which was the best one I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to come back!
Love, love, love it. The BEST sandwiches and so many to chose from. We’ve been focusing on Staten Island this month, so we went there to get the Verrazano (#53) “You’ll cross the bridge for this one” — so we did! Oh! We also got the fresh (oh.so.fresh!!) mozzarella. 😃
Got the the Opie and Anthony, and DaVinci, both sandwiches were great except one cutlet had the 'woody chicken' texture.
The others were okay.
Great place and service as usual
Lioni's is Brooklyn's hidden gem! These are the real deal authentic Italian hero's. The sandwiches are huge, the way they should be, with fresh Italian meats and cheeses. The Rice and Prosciutto balls are a great side dish too. The fresh smoked mozzarella is amazing. You really can't go wrong with anything you order here.
Lived up to their reputation. Ordered the #12 Sofia Loren hero: prosciutto, mozzarella, oil salt and pepper. It was phenomenal and equal to the best I've ever had. The bread - perfect in flavor and texture. Prosciutto razor thin and soft on top of creamy mozzarella. Just the right amount of oil, salt, pepper. This is the sandwich that every other Italian hero tries to be but falls short of.
My buddy told me this place doesn't disappoint- let me tell YOU- It doesn't. This is the best damn chicken Parm Hero I've ever had. Took the crown off Sassys head - i was shocked.
Solid portion, excellent quality chicken, hand made, breaded to perfection- plenty of meat on each cutlet- the cheese was legit, the sauce was perfect- the BREAD- MY GOD THE BREAD. Fresh, a little Crunch on the outside, nice and dougy in the center- not too much dough- just enough to compliment and carry the sandwich. Look, this place is really out of my way, but I'm gonna be back to try at least 15 of the damn near thousand specialty subs I see on their wall because this place is legit. When you want a good sandwich, this is exactly what you want. PEREFECTION.
