Review Varrio 408's - Brooklyn

Fresh ingredients, fast service. We ordered the carne asada meal that feeds 2. Soft flour tortillas made FRESH. If you have any meat and rice left over, just fix yourself a rice bowl.

Delicious tacos! The decor is very colorful and creates an amazing atmosphere. They offer vegetarian options, but I don't recommend those. The food is prepared fast, and is so good! Everything is great.

Super tasty tacos. I like the interior...the chairs are made from repurposed signs. You can see your food being made in front of you. Pretty spacious eating area too.

Yum!!! Do not leave here without getting carnitas. One of the best Mexican spots in NYC, up there with los tacos #1. The corn side dish is delicious and you can’t beat fresh made tortillas. Will definitely be back to try more.

Loved this place a great fast casual. Everything is fresh and delicious

As good as any burrito place you'd find in the Mission in SF and best burrito I've found in NYC. Also the KING tacos 🌮🌮🌮

If I could have it my way, I’d eat here every day! Their burritos and tacos are amazing, and they make perfect Spanish rice! I love the salsa bar, too. It really doesn’t get any better than this spot. And it’s extra great that the people who work here are friendly and awesome.

This place is great. You get a ton of food, more than enough for two people, at a reasonable price. These may be some of the best tacos I've had in Brooklyn. The place is pretty big but feels like a hole in the wall joint. It's usually pretty empty and easy to find a seat the few times I've been here, even for dinner. A hidden gem for tacos in Brooklyn

Best Mexican in the Slope. It's "fiesta style" Mexican that's slightly more authentic and unlike other authentic Mexican places because it's outdoor, barbecue food. Everything on the menu is amazing, and the prices are great, especially for the 1/2 pound platters that can feed a family.

Everything tastes amazing here. I love the al pastor burrito bowl personally, but everything I've tasted is wonderful. The tortillas, which are delicious, are fresh and handmade. I also recommend the aguas frescas- my favorite is Jamaica. The only downside to this place is that it's cash only. But there are several banks within walking distance. Highly recommend!

Great tacos. Had a good feeling about the place the moment I walked in and saw a woman making tortillas by hand! Everything is super fresh and tasty. The al pastor and shrimp tacos are my favorites these days.

Hard to say varrio 408 isn’t the best breakfast burrito in park slope. Service I found less than friendly, but maybe it was an off day or an off employee. $7.50 for chips and salsa is pretty steep tho, and cash only isn’t ideal. Hot takes aside the food is great, and so is the art.

This festive and lively joint serves up delicious tacos on fresh made corn tortillas. It's definitely a hidden gem on 5th. The food can be inconsistent, and the meat is often overcooked and a bit dry (the spices and marinade do a decent job covering this up), but it's a solid quick lunch or dinner spot. Note: it's cash only, and be sure to check out their fixins bar with sauces, cilantro, jalapeños and more (though, I wish it had a bigger "sneeze guard").

Incredible, authentic, tasty and affordable Mexican food. The Al pastor is to die for, and they handmade the tortillas on the spot. It's definitely my favorite place in Park Slope for real Mexican food.

These are hands down the best tacos in Brooklyn. And I'm a taco aficionado! Also probably some of the best carnitas in all of NYC. Hand made fresh tortillas to every order, slow cooked braised meats and cerveza. And a great salsa station to boot. Stop reading this review and get down there!!

There are a number of reasons why Varrio 408 is simply the best Mexican place in NYC. First is their prices, $8 for an amazing burrito that is huge is a great deal. Next is that they are quick, and they deliver for free on seamless and grubhub. Finally, and most importantly is the food. It is fresh cooked meats right on the spot. I always go for the Al Pastor burrito, which is marinated pork that they roast on a spit forever then fry on the grill with pineapples right when you order it. Then they put it on a tortilla that you see an old Mexican lady making from hand, right in front of you. Where else can you get that? No where, that's where. Go to Varrio's, get anything, and prepare to be amazed.

This taco place is probably one of the best places to get tacos in New York City. Not only are their homemade tacos creative but they are most importantly delicious. Eight as you walk in the door, you see an huge taco station with kind employees working behind it to fufill your order. Between the fresh guacamole and the warm tortillas mafe in front of your eyes, this restaraunt is like a food heaven in earth. Not only this but after you leave this authentic Mexican restaraunt, you won't stop thinking about their tacos and would be wishing you had taken some with you. This beautifully decorated storefront is a essential place to vist.

I go here almost weekly. Generously sized burritos. I'm a fan of the Al Pastor burrito. Watch the homemade tortillas be made while you wait for your order. Cash only.

The portions were large and delicious. The Al Pastor burrito bowl had savory sweet meat and pineapples making for an overall amazing meal!

Friendly staff and authentic tacos. Not like some other places. Definitely going back for some more 🌮
