Joseph and Tara are so adorable, they had the best energy, the best smiles and we chopped it up about my favorite flavors! Thank you for being so sweet and having the best customer service.

I used to really liked their vegan ice cream but this time it wasn’t great. Very very “bulky” and “dry” (if you can say that on ice cream), and I thought that they were cheap on the whipped cream (which I paid extra for $0.5 for). My friend got the non vegan ice cream and it tasted much better.
They’re very good in letting you know about food allergies and intolerances. Everything is well marked (gluten , etc…). The place was packed on fried at night and there was only one guy serving (he was very nice and sweet and didn’t get stress at all by all the people).

I am a big fan of Van Leeuwen ice creams and usually purchase the pints from the supermarket. Love trying the limited edition flavors at the shop. The Very Berry Sorbet is amazing!

Great selection of vegan ice cream. The space is cute but very tiny so it gets pretty full on a nice day. The ice cream is a bit pricey but it’s delicious and they, by far, have the largest vegan selection of any ice cream shop I’ve been to. A rarity!

I stopped here 4 times in my 3 days in Brooklyn, just loved it so much. I tried 6 different flavors, but loved the pistachio the most. As a combo, the marionberry cheesecake with the lemon poppyseed cornbread was amazing.

Super small venue but with the same high-quality products. From cones and cups to sandwich ice cream, you can’t go wrong at Van Leeuwen’s. There are tons of vegan choices too, and you can buy pints to go. My kids loved the vanilla, pistachio and cookies and cream. Definitely a place I will visit again in the near future.

I love this ice cream shop. I had the vegan planet earth ice cream and it was delicious. One of the best flavors I’ve had. They have food trucks all over the city. But this location has enough space to sit at. They have a ton of vegan and non vegan options. Would recommend this ice cream shop!

This particular VL is tiny so it gets pretty full and hard to get by when there’s a line. Great staff, clean place.
All the flavors are labeled with allergies as well.

It’s expensive but it’s good fking ice cream. Try the seasonal flavors. They have Mac and cheese but for pints only and that was too much for me to commit. Got the pumpkin cheesecakes and churros scoops and they were both excellent. Two scoops cost $8 and change.

Good ice cream, the flavor selection was decent. It was my first time at Van Leeuwens and the line was out the door. The line did move pretty fast though. This was also a small location, despite it being super crowded the staff was still very nice and patient offered samples and suggestions. It's very nice that this ice cream shop is open pretty late.

Holy Moly! This ice cream is freaking fantastic. I was expecting good, but this was GOOD. Highly recommended. The kids behind the counter aren't the friendliest, but the ice cream more than makes up for it.

It’s never too cold for ice cream! Came here after visiting a local sandwich stop for dessert. I got the vegan bourbon vanilla apple crisp (oat milk base) and my friend got the peppermint stick. The peppermint stick flavor definitely leaves a taste of freshness in the mouth, a must try for all you peppermint fans. The bourbon vanilla apple crisp was indeed delicious during the first three bites, but it does get overwhelming. Because of the oat milk base, I did find the ice cream taste more on the creamier-heavier side than normal ice cream. Also, the bourbon flavor was a bit lacking. The apple bits that were in the ice creamprovided a delightful surprise of tanginess with each bite I took. I did not want to say goodbye to autumn and accept the fate of winter, so I chose this apple pie flavor for a taste of fall.
