I see such mixed reviews for this pizza and feel that I have to give my 2 cents. Is this the best pizza ever? Maybe, it's preference. Is it fresh, unique, and made with its own style? Absolutely, and that's why it deserves a try. This place has been around for a long time and has a calling. It also has some history and is made with fresh and imported ingredients. If you go online and watch the video about Di Fara pizza, you can see that most of the ingredients are imported from Italy. That alone is going to change the taste from your local pizzas. The shop is a small, no frills corner store which is classic NY pizzeria to me. The taste. The taste is absolutely wonderful to me. Sweet and acidic tomatoes, fresh cheese, and a heavy basil taste, carefully placed on a crispy thin crust. Now I'm not a huge fan of crispy and thin, but I truly enjoy this slice. I do feel that this is a must try at least once if you're in NY. Give it try. . . Just don't try to park over there.

I have had pizza in Italy, New Jersey and Connecticut, and I have to say, this style feels perfect to me. And not only that, but the staff and family was so welcoming. It really feels like you’re in a special place filled with lots of charm, character and history. Like a slice out of old New York itself!! ♥️

Long wait.....however def worth it. One of the best slices in the city. The square slice was not great but definitely worth going out of your way to get a regular pie/slice.

This place is special - Go there. Di Fara did not disappoint, despite the hype. I’ve been wanting to make it out here for over a decade, ever since I read the pizzeria article in New York magazine back in 2009. Sadly, a decent amount of the pizza joints featured in that article had since closed down, but not Di Fara! We had already hit Best Pizza and L’Industrie that same day before making it to Di Fara. We lucked out and didn’t have to wait in line but waited maybe 10 minutes or so for our order which was one reg slice, two square (pictured). We really enjoyed them both. The square was very filling, but if I could’ve done it over I would’ve ordered two reg slices, one square, just my preference. We managed to get one of the few small tables, but I wouldn’t expect to get a seat there, although I’m sure they turnover relatively quick. I don’t think the quality of this pizza hit me until we left and I wanted to go back. The dough is very unique in the way that it almost reminds me of Club Butter crackers (in the best way possible). There was a yellow to it and it didn’t taste dried out at all even though the bottom had a nice crisp to it and the slice didn’t droop when holding it up. It’s been about a week since I’ve had it and I’m already contemplating having a pie shipped from them. Hope to get back some day!

An absolutely must! Likely the best white pie we’ve ever had! Simply made but extremely tasty, with a great crust and straight out of the oven! This pizza proves that you don’t need many ingredients to have an authentic white pie. The place is small and out from the 60s. It’s a hidden gem in Brooklyn worth visiting. Staff is friendly and service is fast! 💯 recommended!

The absolute best pizza I've ever had in my life. We tried 10 different pizza spots on our trip and Di Fara was by far the best. Yes, you'll have to wait. Yes, it is deep in Brooklyn. But I promise it is worth it. The crust was the thinnest, most crisp I've ever tasted. Its crisp even beats the top New Haven spots. I loved that they made the slices to order, not reheated. The ingredients were simple and fresh (they get everything from Italy). I have been dreaming about this pizza every day since our trip. The shop is exactly what you'd expect, very small and looks straight out of the 60s. The staff were so friendly and patient, the vibes of the place were excellent. There is a very large Orthodox Jewish population in the neighborhood. It was really cool to see so much culture and diversity. If you are a pizza fan of any kind, you absolutely have to make the trek to Di Fara. It's life changing!

If you like a crunchy crust then this is the best New York slice you’ll find! Pizza Slice Rating - 9.4 Crust - this is the best crust I’ve had yet. Perfect char and a great crunch. Topping - the tomato does slide off a bit too much for my liking and the cheese is a little absent Sauce - not as sweet as others but nothing too bad either Cost - $5

I’m so glad we visited this place and it definitely lives up to the old-school-New-York-style pizza hype. I got the plain square slice with tomato and cheese, finished with fresh basil. The simple high quality toppings are absolutely amazing on this pizza and that’s probably why it’s so popular. I probably would stick with a regular thin crust slice next time since the bottom of the square was fairly overdone. Thin crust looked like the way to go. The main downside to this place is the size. There’s hardly any space in the pizzeria to sit down and the whole room was hot in the summer from the pizza oven. The service was also very friendly, but even with only a few people in line, it moved pretty slowly. If this place had some comfortable places to sit it would get a 5 star rating from me, but the small one oven location may be part of its old school charm. If you’re a pizza fanatic, this place is worth driving to from Manhattan. If you are visiting Brooklyn, it’s also worth stopping by. If I lived in the area I would definitely be ordering a full round pizza to go regularly. I think that’s where this place shines.

A must stop for any pizza enthusiast. It tops lists of pizza in the country and for good reason. Place is small but filled with a bunch of history that fees very authentic. I tried a square and round and both were delicious. Fresh sauce and the perfect amount of cheese and crisp in the crust. One of the best in NYC

I went to the Brooklyn location and ordered a regular $5 slice. It was ready in 2 minutes but when I tried it it tasted fresh from the oven. The slice was very thin and not too large as you’ve probably tried at other NYC places. What I loved most was the sauce that gave a special taste and the melted cheese that in some parts was slightly more fried and crispy, super tasty. And of course fresh basil gave it a final touch. The place inside is super tiny and I’d say it’s not the best to stay and enjoy the food. But my 5 star rating goes entirely towards the pizza.
