Pretty good coffee. The pumpkin spice latte was really good. I say that because im so sick of it and avoid it every fall but this one was very reserved and didnt kick you in the teeth with sugar and pumpkin. They have amazing cardamom tea cake worth raising a linage of roman like empires and burning them in betrayal in order to get some.
Café Grumpy has a large and very inviting indoor space. The coffee was well made, with the roast nicely balanced - not too light, not too dark.
I love there coffee here super strong and wakes me up. The pastries here are also delicious and yummy. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Atmosphere feels comfortable and lovely. Overall great small coffee shop will be coming back if I in the area.
I just love this coffee shop. They have an amazing coffee and great space to sit and enjoy it.
There are a lot of spots to sit and you can actually see people working here.
The pastries are good too.
Café Grumpy is what I want as my local coffee shop.
Service4 is good, coffee is amazing.
If you have never been to Café Grumpy, you need to check it out.
Very calm and comfortable with room to work. A very nice place to get caffeinated and progress your day.
Grumpy's is a great place to work, undisturbed, on your laptop while enjoying excellent coffee and pastry snacks.
This place is jumpin! Went in on a Thursday morning, and definitely didn’t expect the crowd that was there. That said, we found a table pretty quickly, though we eventually opted for outdoor seating.
Their selection of baked goods will have you wanting to try a bit of everything.
Service is pretty good, very friendly, although it’s not clear where to order, funny enough, because the line for paying doesn’t seem like a line for ordering; not clear where to order. I almost tried accidentally tried ordering at a server’s terminal thinking maybe orders were put in via a device or something. Part of our order did get forgotten too, but the place was busy, and staff wasn’t numerous. Neither is a biggie. I’d certainly go back.
A great spot to cowork on your laptop or meet friends for coffee. Not many food options but their pumpkin bread is great and fresh croissants! Lots of outlets and tables
I’ve been coming here three or four times a week for 8 years. In my opinion, the Greenpoint location is the best coffee shop in New York City. There are several strong reasons:
1) They do not play music loud, and sometimes there is no music at all. Right now, I’m in Grumpy and there is no music playing. It makes for such a peaceful atmosphere. It’s sort of like a chill library except not stuffy.
2) Large space that is rarely packed. I almost never have trouble finding a place to sit and use my laptop. The staff also let’s you eat outside food as long as you buy something from there too.
