Review Arrogant Swine - Brooklyn

Great and friendly service. The outdoor patio is a great touch especially for the summer. The interior is nice and spacious. It has a dive bar feeling inside , great selection of whiskey. Lots of options for BBQ. I would say to start off small and order as you go as the portions are more than generous. Plan on coming with a group if you’re looking to grab some food and kick back with a few buddies. Fries were a bit on the salty. Sandwiches were tasty. The ribs were huge. The BBQ sauce seems like it’s vinegar based and a bit too thin for my preference .

This place is good! Dive bar feel with great food! We ordered way too much food, of course, but it was all great. The drinks were strong and flowing as well. The pulled pork was so good it melted in your mouth. The coleslaws were okay, neither were my favorite. Definitely pour the extra cheese on the mac and cheese waffle for full effect.

Very cool place. Stopped in for the smell. Kimchi and pork belly sandwich was hella good and they had jai alai on tap. Will def be back for their on top cocktails and house Prosecco. Great open door Saturday kinda spot.

The whole experience was great! We ordered the ribs and smoked pork shoulder which were both great. I particularly loved the ribs! The mustard used over the ribs was just the right mix of sweet and tangy. They also have a good menu of beers. For us, the perk was promotional irish whiskey and the great ambience of the place!

Great selection of beers. I really loves the cider and mixed drinks on tap as well! The pulled pork sandwich was phenomenal and I highly recommend it!

I enjoyed my visit and could imagine visiting more often if there was a fryer, tastier lager and a cosier décor. In Summer, the airiness is a good thing though.

Solid Bushwick hang. Make sure you ask for Tim!!! My bourbon mule was really good (they used peach bitters in it) and food options look fantastic although I admittedly have not eaten here. Great spot if you want to bring a large group, tons of seating. Also huge rye/bourbon selection.

Great barbecue and bar, super cozy casual and laid-back, the food is tasty and different then your topical BBQ place

By far the best place to get bbq in the neighborhood! My favorite place to sit down and have a nice cold craft beer sip on a fine whiskey and watch some sports.

Awesome spot! All the meat was super tasty and the fresh cornbread was delicious!

Good service , good place to have bbq . The ribs were not bad , I just prefer them a bit more well done.

Good spot. Big selection of beer and liquor and a lot of less conventional stuff so if you're looking for something new you'll find it. The food is good and unique. We tried the sweet potato waffle and it was awesome. Plus the mega nachos, and when they say it'll be big they're not kidding.

Good selection of drafts. Hella lot of whiskey choices, decent prices for lunch specials as low as $7! You can not lose! And as far as I can tell, they are dog friendly! It's a win win if you like slow cooked pork!

Randomly stopped by to kill some time and for a quick lunch not expecting anything magical, but what I got was the best BBQ turkey sandwich of my life. Seriously delicious. I should have took a photo. Either way - this place is great. Chill atmosphere, nice people, great beer and food. 10/10 would go again.

Arrogant Swine has existed too long in New York City without my visit. It's promise of East Carolina whole hog barbecue should have had me long ago, as I've said ever since a trip down south years ago that this was my favorite style. I am not from the south, but have traveled through most of the places in the country to be considered good in barbecue, from coastal Carolina to Texas. I do not speak of barbecue as religion as many do, but I can respect those that preach their gospel. For me, the holiest site of barbecue was on a backroads corner of the Hemingway Highway in South Carolina at Scott's Variety Store, where the Scott family has been smoking whole hogs over wood since 1972. After being rubbed and mopped with vinegar and pepper during smoking, the meats from the whole animal are mixed and served shredded.

As an experience, Arrogant Swine was definitely worth trekking it out to Bushwick and I only wish we had been able to go a little earlier to hang on the outdoor patio and drink more of their great selection of beers.

Pork belly showed the potential to be the menu's hidden gem. Pencil-thin slices of belly had decent moisture, minimal fat content (you could down the entire slice with no trimming necessary) and a somewhat porky flavor elevated by a thin "tamarind dip."

Everything. The pork, the sides...delish!

Starting as a series of pop-ups in the summer of 2013, Arrogant Swine brought Carolina style whole hog barbecue to New York City five seasons later as a brick and mortar enterprise. Owner/pitmaster Tyson Ho has built quite the space, with much emphasis on the bar and the street art. Outdoor picnic tables galore have heaters to make outdoor dining an option even in winter.
