I hav not been there I over 18 years and the food and prices are still great! I used to take my mom there it was her favorite plate too, I was there this month and the waiter was excellent very please with the staff and the food the only this I'm up set with is the don't deliver to sheepshead bay which really isn't that far but other than that I love it there wonton soup they give with the combo meals are great lots of meat and greens well done check an new star! You get 5 stars

Love the food. Always good service. We have a regular server, Eddy. Nice to not have my food messed up, and prepared like I like it.
This place was FANTASTIC. I was looking for a good old school traditional Chinese Resturant and came across this place. It was a clean modern decor but everything else about it reminded me of going for Chinese food with my mom as a child. The tables had table cloths, we were served hot tea, came with noodles, duck sauce and mustard. The General Tso's Chicken and Shrimp with Lobster sauce were both incredibly delicious. I will be going again.
China New Star been around a long time. I've been going over 15 years. Food is always delicious! Portions are huge! Staff is very nice. The noodles with duck sauce best around ! I can't be down that way and not go!
Food is consistently well-prepared. Quality ingredients and nice portions. I and my family have dined or ordered food for takeout for several years. Restaurant is well managed and staff is friendly.

We drive and pay the bridge from Rockaway for this food. They were very kind in past towards special needs kids on Chinese New Year. You can see them chop fresh vegetables. The frozen drinks look fantastic
First time there and the place is clean and the decor is very nice. Was seated right away and the waiters are very attentive. Ordered a pu pu platter for 2 and they brought our crispy noodles out with duck sauce and the yellow mustard. The yellow mustard is the best for flavor and sinus cleansing. Lol. Everything on the platter was perfect, including the little fire pit in the middle. Also ordered the boneless ribs with pork fried rice. We could barely touch the ribs because we were almost full on the platter. So picking at the ribs, they were moist and sauced perfectly and the rice was top notch. So 2 days later, after picking on the leftover ribs, we had to feed our pups and they loved the leftovers. Needless to say, my wife can bring me back there anytime.
I am not from New York. It was a different way of ordering than we do in California... but food was good. Walnut shrimp was jumbo shrimp yumminess with broccoli crowns all around the serving plate. I got combination plate of chicken broccoli, pork fried rice, egg drop soup and a not so appetizing big egg roll. Another combination plate came with rice, wonton soup, an egg roll and entree of shrimp chicken and veggies. The crispy fried wrapper skins were an added bonus that came complimentary to our table. So good.
Slightly more expensive than I anticipated but service was good.

Fantastic experience! Food was delicious and came out fast. Service was super friendly (and funny!) and the place was big and bright and clean. Absolutely will come back next time I'm visiting grandma!
The food is consistent each time I visit this restaurant . The food is cooked fresh and my meal is always affordable and well worth the money.
My personal favorite dishes at this restaurant are: The Pork Fried Rice, Wonton Soup and General Tso's Chicken.
These dishes are always fresh , flavorful and well proportioned .
As far as the service , I don’t have any complaints . After frequenting this restaurant for years I don’t have anything bad to say about this restaurant.
