We gave this place a try and we did not regret it. All the other sushi restaurants in Williamsburgs are either hard to reserve, very expensive, require $50-75 no show fee deposit or closed on Mondays. We reserved for 7:30pm on a Monday night and upon arriving there were plenty of seats. The host asked us if we would like to sit in the back outdoor area and we said yes. It is beautifully decorated in the back, with lights, a mural, but you will be hearing the zapping of mosquitos and getting a few bites! We ordered a tray of sushi to share, some speciality rolls, an udon dish, gyu-don rice dish, and purple yam fried and karage. The appetizers came promptly and they were so good, the chicken was hot and fresh and came with sauce and a dipping salt. The purple yam fries were very interesting and I think it came with a matcha sauce. These two appetizers are really good and a must try. The sushi came and it was the typical rolls, not the best sushi quality but that is okay because it was still good and presentable, and this isn’t a $$$$ type of restaurant. The udon was good and so was the gyu-don beef over rice. We also ordered beers and cocktails which were good. Our party enjoyed our time here, it was quiet, soft, ambient, the food was good, and it is a great place to catch up with friends over a meal.

As soon as I entered I was greeted with a smile. I came in for lunch with my friends and we sat down in their back yard area. Very calm atmosphere with new renovations. We made sure to try their new refreshing drinks at their new bar. Very affordable prices in you are staying to eat out but at the same time save some money . :P

We stopped here for lunch with a time crunch - the service was swift, food was delicious, and we made it out in 45min which was amazing. The most beef negimaki I've ever been served. The back area has greenhouse vibes and it was a very nice ambiance. We would love to return and be able to enjoy it without any time constraints. * Edit: We've returned a few more times and it is definitely a favorite in the area. Service is always great!

The best Sushi restaurant in the neighborhood. All the rolls are on point. The fish is always fresh. I highly recommend the the Crunchy Scallop roll. What I also like about Ako. is that all the staff treat you like a regular. They are always making sure that you are happy with the food and service.

This is my favorite sushi spot in Brooklyn. My boyfriend and I come here every single week, ordering the same things because we like it so much. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Nice backyard in the back if you’d like to sit outside (inside seating is available as well). Quality of the 🍱 is great every single time and the check is always reasonable. Check it out sometime. 😉

Cute spot. The backyard area is nice. Heaters and some art as well as a small tree with lights on it. Had the eel tempura, crab and avocado roll. Delicious! Also tried their karage which was ok. Was missing some lime. Service was good. Def would come back

It's like walking into a piece of Japan right in the heart of Williamsburg. The food is genuinely and expertly crafted, with a menu that is very affordable. Completely worth the visit in small or large groups!

Amazing sushi, really nice staff! Salmon and mango roll was literally so bomb. Also got the white tuna and jalapeño roll and the jalapeño was roasted to perfection. Got shishito peppers that were glazed in soy with bonito flakes and the karage chicken! Everything was amazing, would love to come back!! Also the atmosphere was amazing and so beautiful and airy <3

Great spot for casual Japanese food with a cute patio. Good for a quick lunch, or a dinner date. This place has been a neighborhood staple, and glad to see they have improved over the years. The staff is still the same friendly people. The food is delicious yet isn’t expensive. They have a good selection of sashimi, sushi, and rice bowls, and noodle bowls.

Always a fine dining experience at Ako. Their appetizers are top tier, and their rolls are always (not) surprisingly excellent. Try a spritz or the yuzu lemonade

The sushi rolls at this place was extremely delicious and freshly made. You could tell in the taste they took their time with the preparation. Not too costly either which is GREAT and I felt the overall care from their servers towards me!🙂

We came here one rainy Sunday afternoon, thankfully their backyard area is covered with a transparent roof and we were able to hear and see the raindrops, we found it whimsical! Since I have not had a bento box in months, I ordered it to see what is their take on it. I selected salmon teriyaki bento. They first served a veggie salad with ginger dressing followed by miso soup. The bento box came with 4 pieces of California roll, 2 pieces of fried siomai, white rice, and salmon teriyaki on a bed of mixed greens. I thought the serving was generous for $13, and it didn’t compromise the quality nor the taste. On our way out, I told our server that we will come back next weekend. With great customer service and price points, who wouldn’t?!

I been going around Williamsburg restaurants trying different foods and I have pass by Ako a lot of times and I didn’t notice this gem. The patio seating is great, warm and cozy. The sushi was fantastic. We started with the tuna tataki and the edamame. Then some rolls. The rainbow roll was delicious. The staff was great !!
