Review Yaso - Brooklyn

Dumplings were very tasty especially with the chili sauce they were nice enough to give me but it wasn’t my favorite style of dumpling. I prefer pan fried dumplings so if these were pan fried they would be soooooooo delicious! I personally thought the dumplings to be kinda soggy/watery but the water tasted like a really good broth just not for me.

Pretty good Shanghai-style food! They were out of the fried doughy dumplings but the soup dumplings decent. They had a little bit too thick and chewy texture, but the soup was on point. The stewed tofu was faithful to the source material, the soy egg was delicious. Rice cabbage and broccoli were good. My girlfriend's chicken cutlet and fried rice were great! I'll probably come back to try those dumplings they were out of

April 2018: Enjoyed the beef noodle soup on a cold night. Was tasty. My only complaint is the portion is on the small side. Also had the dumplings and the short ribs over rice on another night. Food is excellent. January 2018: Great noodles and dumplings. The beef soup noodles was delicious. The broth tasted very clean and flavorful. Rib dry noodles was sweet and tasty. Would definitely come back again.

Nice and open space. The big menu helps and it was quick to self order. I had the N1 Braised beef noodle soup and the soup dumplings. My noodles soup was a bit spicy which surprised me since the menu didn’t indicate that. Both dishes were very tasty and not overtly salty. Will definitely come back if I’m in the area.

Delicious but soup dumplings are pricey considering you only get 4 of them. I absolutely love their meatballs and fried egg over rice. Cold drunken chicken is also very good. Generally authentic but the shumai is a pass.

Amazing meal here for lunch today. Came here because I’d heard the soup dumplings are good but I wound up ordering pork buns and short ribs! (Will be going back for the soup dumplings!) The buns were delicious, fluffy and the filling was full of flavor & the ratio of bread to filing was perfect. I also had the sweet and sour ribs— fall off the bone, packed with flavor, amazing texture, rich and just something I know I’ll need to come back for on the regular. They also sell a version that comes with noodles— wasn’t hungry enough for that on top of everything else I ordered but I imagine they compliment the sauce well and let you enjoy even more of the flavor. They offer ordering kiosks too, which I like— moves quicker & makes sure you’re ordering the right thing.

The food at the restaurant is always consistently fresh and well seasoned. My favorite dish is the fried chicken over garlic fried rice. However, I’ve heard great things about the R2, which is the Fried Chicken Fillet Over Rice w Hupi Egg. The prices at this restaurant are a bit expensive if you are on a budget , so I only eat here as a treat to myself for having a productive month. I would suggest this restaurant to anyone with a taste for food but unique food.

Love this frill-free Shanghainese eatery. The restaurant is spacious and there’s plenty of seating. The taste of the noodles and dumplings are decent too, though I can’t taste the crab in their blue crab and pork soup dumpling. The soup dumplings lack soup, they still taste fine. I hoped their spicy sweet dumplings would be a little more spicy, currently they are more like a dessert. Overall I like this restaurant and would recommend, I imagine it’s popular among students and young people.

This fast casual place is a little pricey for the portions of dim sum items like dumplings and shumai but the quality is pretty good! The rice bowls are more substantial. The soup dumplings are just ok because the skins are too thick and the broth not as flavourful as others. The braised tofu is fantastic and I really liked the chicken shumai with sweet rice and the egg in the bowl. The spicy chicken was tender but not very flavourful. I like that you can order on iPads so you can customise what you get with ease.

This is an awesome place for a quick taste of authentic Chinese food. I really liked the spicy dumpling and the heat level. The soup dumpling were okay, i felt like it was lacking something. The skin was kind of dry but the soup inside tasted pretty good. There wasn't any issues with my order and I'll probably visit this place again since it's fairly close to where I work.

A taste of Shanghai meets Brooklyn. You must eat here. Menu prices are affordable and worth every penny. Superb taste. Dumplings, noodles and more. Nice layout and space too. 🍜🍜🍜🍜🍜🍜🍜🍜🍜🍜🍜🍜

This is one of my go to spots in the area for lunch. They make some decent soup dumplings and have some pretty good rice dishes. My favorite and most highly recommended dish is the honey spare ribs over rice 👌The price I feel is fair given that the food is not standard hole in the wall Chinese food. Service is typically fast and the staff is pretty polite. There is free water and the condiments such as sriracha, soy sauce and vinegar are readily available.

I liked the spicy pork soup dumplings, although they could have more soup in them. The Chinese cabbage and the meatballs were also good. I'll be back to try more dishes.

We came right at noon on a Monday and was able to find a seat immediately. Food was delicious and service was fast. I’m from the west coast so my reference for soup dumplings is the infamous Din Tai Fung XLB, but this dumpling was pretty good! The wrap is pretty thick around the dumpling and gets sticky pretty soon after you pop the lid off the container - but taste wise is pretty delicious! I got the spicy pork XLB and it wasn’t too spicy but gives a different taste profile than a traditional pork bao - worth a try. Pics also show beef noodle soup, sweet and spicy pork dumplings, and sweet and sour pork rib dry noodles. Definitely recommend you stop by if you’re in the area and in the mood for dumplings!

Great dumplings, fast service and authentic Shanghai eats in a causal joint. Our favs included soft shell crab XLBs and soup noodles.

A chill place to get some Chinese food. The style is similar to Xian's Famous Food, a quick place to get street food. The pricing here is a lot more expensive, with basic noodles coming at around 10 dollars. Things are a bit overpriced, but I am glad this place exists for quick bites. It's clean, has a nice atmosphere, and is right next to NYU Tandon.

It was my first time to try the spicy pork soup dumplings. The filling was tasty but the skin is little too soft. The rice was too soggy. And there is not no salt in the cabbage.

This place was so good I went for breakfast 2 days in a row! The siu mai had a distinctly amazing flavor. The chicken curry with white rice and egg was a great breakfast entree and the braised beef noodle was equally as good. I like the walk-up style to this place and self service. Of course the soup dumplings, spicy and regular, were fantastic!
