Really good place for a family outing. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The environment is family friendly including a small play area. The ice cream is delicious and the flavors are creative, but way, way rich. My husband and I could have been plenty happy splitting a small ice cream. Will definitely be going again and we're eager to check out the roof deck in better weather!
It’s a really good ice cream spot. Is it better than others? Not really I’d say, but the rooftop is dope. Enjoyed the Adirondack chairs on a nice summer night. The “it came from gowanus” was super rich but the crunch was incredible. The price seemed in line with all the other fancy ice cream joints in the city.
The ice cream here is unbelievable! I would recommend trying a few different types before ordering if you haven’t been here before because some flavors are a lot better than others.
I had the Chocolate Milk & Cookies, Snap Mallow Pop, and Ooey Gooey Butter Cake.
The Ooey Gooey Butter Cake was amazing! The other two flavors were sweet and good but I expected them to be better.
All ice creams were very fresh and the variety of flavors they have is very cool!
Recommendation: Go to Table 87 for Pizza, Damascus Bakery for Pita Hummus Baklava and other Syrian delicacies, and then Ample Hills Creamery!
Delicious Ice cream in unique flavors. Great place to chill with friends or family. Outdoor/roof seating is especially nice. They also have a space for kids to play complete with a children's kitchen. Great place! Will definitely go back sometimes soon.
Their homemade ice cream is a slice of heaven. I am not sure I have had better than their - Sweet as Honey....ever. It’s so rich, but not sickeningly sweet. They are well staffed, so don’t be daunted by the crowds and lines on a hot day. We also went when it was cooler, and it was lovely just to sit upstairs on their roof.
It’s such a perfect place for families. We took our nephews and they had a ball picking flavours.
9.22.17 - great flavors using real cream. Slow melting ice cream that's fun to enjoy. There's seating behind the counter and the staff are super helpful. It's a great place to go post dinner.
If you like your ice cream to be filled with other desserts and goodies, Ample hills is the shop for you.
They have a large collection of ice cream options with wide ranging mix-ins, all at good prices.
The texture is amazing and the sweetness is appropriate. They do not allow samples though. They also have pints to go as well as ice cream cakes.
If the three flavors I had, ooey gooey butter cake was quite good but the other two, it came from gowanus (store specific flavor) and long meadows were not good. I felt the saltiness and the orange scented brownies in it came from gowanus were too subtle and the long meadow was just not enjoyable.
I’m not really sure why it took me this long to try Ample Hills Creamery Ice Cream. I had it for the first time recently and it was good old fashioned ice cream. I tried Ooey gooey which I sound to be delicious and unique. It’s a cream cheese based ice cream with chunks of butter cake. Even saying that last sentence makes my mouth water. I also had their non-dairy “Oh Fudge” chocolate ice cream, which was perfectly creamy and chocolatey. The staff working was really nice, the place was clean, and had a classic, family friendly atmosphere. - Follow @bitbyfran on IG for food stuff. ✌🏼

Very creative menu, nice staff, spacious, relaxed atmosphere. They have some Vegan options, which was a nice surprise. Their cotton candy flavor is very peculiar. They are a bit too sugary for my taste, though. I have seen big lines in the Summer, but obviously not so crowded during the cold season.
Went to evening function after a daytime wedding. They have a roof top for private affairs. The ice creams are homemade are novel. and very good.
