I went to Vinny's for dinner with a friend last night. I was doing research, looking for a place to have dinner and came across Vinny's; it had several good reviews. Also, another friend of mine lives in the neighborhood and have gone to Vinny's plenty of times and gave it rave reviews. We'll, I arrived at 8:20pm and it was quite busy. I waited and it was worth the wait. OMG is all I can say! Authentic italian style food! I ordered the Lausangua.....it's was so good and you get warm Italian bread....yummy! All the dishes coming out looked so good. I am definitely going back and I recommend you give it a try! It's a small place though so try to get there at the start of the dinner hours and be patient if there is a wait, it's worth it.
The best home made Italian food in Brooklyn ! Recipes that my grandmother and mother used to make ! The food is always fresh and delicious ! And the wait staff very kind and attentive . I highly recommend this Italian gem !
Great food and wait staff. You won't leave this place hungry and if you can control yourself, you'll have enough left over for lunch the next day. No frills kind of place with comfort food that won't disappoint.
Family Fun. Great portions, nice wait-staff and good quality food. Definitely a pleasant warm setting with lots of classic Italian charm.
Food here is fantastic. You can feed a family with a single order you get. Best food in Brooklyn. Love it.
The staff and food was amazing! Got the gnocchi and the chicken parm and it was drool fest 🤤 Overall, bomb bomb 💣
Years have gone by, since I ate at Vinny s. Due to health reasons. Atmosphere was lovely with waitresses always prompt and smiling. Food is delicioso and special. All individual entrees- Fish, Chicken, Veal, Pasta, etc.- are cooked and seasoned to your specifications. Till this day. Everyone raves Vinny s Best.
I have both eaten in the restaurant and taking food to go in both cases. The food is of the highest quality and I love the atmosphere. It's very casual and makes you want to sit, talk, eat and have a cup of coffee! The owner is friendly and the staff is excellent!
Great food, amazing service as always. We came with a big group and everyone loved their meals. Generous portions and still we took very little home, because we at it all!
I rate Vinny's 5 stars for being a staple in downtown Brooklyn for decades. They are like family and the food is remarkable. Wanna feel good and have a good ol' comfort Italian meal? Look no further and go to Vinny's. I love the old school feel, takes me back to simpler days. Patrons become to know each other. Everyone says hello. Reminds me of older neighborhoods. Very authentic, the staff is great and so sweet. And if you become a regular Vinny himself will always ask if you want a cappuccino 💖
This is my go-to Italian restaurant, and I love it. Few restaurants in NYC survive for ten years, let alone twenty-six—one taste and you’ll instantly see why.
Let’s be clear: If you’re looking for old-country authenticity that is just like your Italian nonna’s cooking, or a trendy, extremely upscale avant-garde spot that is clearly gunning for a Michelin star, look elsewhere—there are plenty of other Italian restaurants in the vicinity that fill that niche better.
But if you want Italian-American comfort food the way Italian families in NYC have been making it at home for at least a hundred years, the kind for which your neighborhood pizzeria’s non-pizza dinner entrees are but a pale imitation, this spot is unsurpassed. They’ve got the best chicken parm in the city (crispy and slathered in a rich, tangy marinara), the best spaghetti bolognese in the city (robust with Italian spices, warm and crumbly, perfectly balanced, sticks to your ribs).
If you want to know what a great Italian-American meal of meat, pasta, and red sauce actually worth $20 tastes like, not that cynical nonsense they serve you at the likes of Olive Garden, this is the place. Bring your Midwestern friends from Podunk who grew up eating pasta at their local family restaurant and wow their socks off. It’s not chic or Instagram-friendly, but it is the finest possible version of the Italian food most of America remembers, big city pretensions be damned.
Also, the atmosphere is cozy and the wait staff are absolute sweethearts. Highly recommended.
Great authentic Italian food from a restaurant that's been a staple in the neighborhood for over 45 years.
Friendly and personable customer service, large servings, truly 2nd to none traditional Italian dish taste.
Thanks Vinny's!!!
Mama Mia! This place is a Brooklyn staple, and you can see why as soon as you enter this cozy lil place! Noisy just like my grandmother and mothers kitchens anytime good food was to be had! There is sooooo much love in this food you can taste it! Great service and the staff always make you feel like you are eating at your Italian families table, even if you are not family, or Italian! If you get to Brooklyn anytime soon, go eat there! Just do it!
I love vinny’s!! Celia and the other ladies are just that, LADIES!! Food is always great. People are regular. I can always tell the male from the female. Service is attentive. Good people at Vinny’s
