I love this place. It's comfortable and unpretentious. The food is incredible (last thing I ate was the Dixie Chick sandwich but I've had almost everything there) and everyone who works there is extremely friendly. Completely positive.

My husband and I stopped in today on one of our Brooklyn trips. I was so happy we did! Being from Louisiana I can be a tad judgemental in regards to Cajun food but this place was awesome! They had their brunch menu going; I got a crawfish & shrimp omelet with grits and my husband had the shrimp and grits...... SO GREAT! Topped it off with an Abita beer and i could not be more thrilled! Staff was friendly and food was great, we will be back!

Overall rating: 4.8 NOTE: This review is based off of visits between Dec 2021 - Apr 2022. Menu has changed since then & majority is no longer accurate based on recent visit. — I have been here 8 or so times for Bingo Wednesday. I’ve had the following: - Shrimp & Grits: really good but sometimes greasy & oily. Unfortunately, it has never been the same twice. Sometimes the shrimp is burnt, sometimes it’s not. It is a large portion which I appreciate. - Kale Salad w/ Shrimp (not pictured): my current favorite. The dressing is very nicely evenly distributed. I really like the shaved Parmesan and flavored shrimp. - Gumbo: I wish there was more sausage. A very, very large portion & sometimes very oily. Definitely took some home for the next day. - Mac & Cheese (not pictured): First get it with bacon bits. Second, I have insider knowledge that if you get it to go .. it’s a larger portion than if you eat it there 👀👀 - Bingo: oh the lovely vibes. Some prizes include grab bag, a free shot, a free drink & a $25 gift card. I have still yet to win (even though I’ve been going for a few months). BUT it’s worth it. Also the “host” / bingo caller is all you need on a rainy day. The staff is wonderfully friendly. I’ve only knocked a few stars because the food isn’t that consistent in taste. Really good energy & gives you a great community bar.

What an absolutely treat of a hidden gem. That term is probably tossed around a lot but living in Long Island these days means I don't often find myself that far into Brooklyn much let alone in the hunt for food but my friend and I randomly found Catfish on google maps and figured we'd give it a try. The mood, the lighting, the service, the chefs, the food, the drinks, the prices, THE FOOD.. I could go on but it's safe to say if you like well flavored slightly spicy food for great prices and in a really relaxed setting, give this place a try. I'd absolutely go out of my way to make a visit if the time permits, it's so worth it.

I recently found this restaurant and have been here more than 3 times. Addiction is the word. Go on Wednesday for bingo!! A New Orleans vibe with hot sauce bottles on the back walls. The food!! I have tried and been satisfied by everything on the menu, except for everything made with pork. The corn bread, fries, steak, catfish, chicken, grits ALL made with love and flavor. Will I be back, you can believe it!!!

Had a really great meal here. I had the crawfish etouffee, and the collard greens. There service was really friendly and quick, and always checking to see if you need anything. The etouffee, was very good, I wish the portion of rice was just a little bigger but the good was delicious. Just the right kind of spice for me. The greens were quite smokey flavored, with a hint of sweetness that I could put my finger on to what it was. I had some bread pudding for dessert and that was great also. Not overly sweet, with a nice alcohol addition to it. A great experience. Came again with the rest of the family, and still great food and service. Highly recommend.

The food was good. It didn’t taste like the Cajun food I’m used to but perhaps this is what authentic Cajun food tastes like! I knocked a star because though my husband and I were the only people waiting/ordering food at the time (about 11:30 pm) it took a while for us to get our plates. Once we got them we were surprised that the meat inside my husbands pulled pork sandwich was cold along the outside and lukewarm inside. However, the sandwich was the best pulled pork I have ever tasted anywhere. The hosts are nice and laidback, they had great music playing. My husband also said his drink was the smoothest he’d ever had it (a crown royal). We’re visiting Brooklyn for the first time from Indiana and it was a great experience for our first time going to a bar here. Would revisit.

Went on a weekday evening around 530, just my spouse and I. Seats were plentiful. Music was jazzy. Place was cozy. No draft even when seated by door. The staff was attentive. Very friendly. There's a bar across from the tables and chairs. Happy hour was just about to end and the waiter made it a point to let me know this and that the drinks were 2 dollars off. Very thoughtful. A lot to choose from in the menu. Wide variety of appetizers and sides to choose from. The entrees were different (In a good way). I got the chicken fried steak, with garlic cheese grits, green beans and country gravy. Steak is only prepared one way, well done(at least that's what I was told), the steak was ok. The grits was Perfect!! Also got the roasted chicken(half) that comes with the collard greens a biscuit topped with gravy. The chicken was well cooked seasoned well. The gravy on top of the biscuit was heaven. You must get the baked mac and cheese!!(with either bacon bits or crawfish) All and all the service was quick and the bill was moderate. Reccomend for a quick bite, nice meal with coworkers, casual date.

Polite, and attentive staff. The drinks are strong, and made with New Orleans style. The food is very good. The Crab Cakes are delicious as an appetizer. The Crawfish Mac & Cheese was my favorite side. However, I did not like the Collard Greens. It was too spicy. Had to take half a star for that. I also with they would expand their menu. Overall, I had a very nice experience.

The food here was ok. We only had the shrimp basket and potato salad, the shrimp and fries were really good (shrimp a little salty) but I didn't care much for the potato salad. The drinks were good!!! I'll go back because I want to try the shrimp and grits and collard greens. The staff there are super friendly and helpful.

For the gravy, I'm coming back here for sure. I ordered jambalaya and chicken fried steak. The grits were piping hot, the gravy was excellent, and the steak was well-seasoned. The jambalya had good seasoning but could have used a little more heat (temperature). The serving size was substantial. The wait staff were exceptionally friendly. Very good all around.

This place is awesome! The happy hour is really good: 1 dollar oysters, and 2 dollars off drinks. Lots of different beer and liquor options. We went during happy hour and it was pretty desolate but that doesn't a bad thing. They have a beer garden as well. I highly recommend the shrimp and grits. Super good!

Recently visited Nola and as always, the homesickness started kicking in. Tried the fried shrimp poboy which came with fresh bread. Will try eating immediately after next time, I had my order to go. I prefer my bread a little more crispy but not that big of a deal, portion of shrimp was perfect and not too messy to eat. Salad was heavy on the dressing. Very easy online ordering from their website via Toasttab, food was ready before pick up time. Staff were very attentive and prompt. Definitely a welcome spot in the neighborhood.

This is one of my favorite spots for brunch that is nearby. It’s Cajun and NYC barely has stuff like that!! No bottomless option but the Mimosas are like $6 👀 One star is deducted because the shrimp are way smaller than they used to be and the bacon used in the Shrimp and Grits haven’t been thick cut as usual.
