Review Bricolage - Brooklyn

Found this place by chance, and boy am I happy we did... Apart from the amazing ambiance and service, Bricolage had some of the best cocktails I've had in a while. We had Ransom, Green Thumb and Chemistry - loved them all. For food, we've tried the Lobster Pancakes and the Summer Roll. Summer Roll was nothing to write home about, but the Lobster Pancakes were great! Really recommend this place

Great ambiance. The food came in a timely fashion, and everything was good. Special mention to the Maple Glazed Duck Breast and the Lemongrass Grilled Pork Chop. Oh, also, the Matcha Painkiller was a great drink. The portion sizes are good to share. For a party of five, we ordered two appetizers and four main courses and ended up pretty satisfied, without room for dessert.

Beautiful place, with many many details that make for a really cozy and nice experience. The service was excellent. I won’t rate it 5 stars cause the appetizers were a bit disappointing. The chicken wings I would not order again, there are better ones out there. The duck, though, was so good! And the molten chocolate cake too. Will definitely be coming back cause the menu looked great!

Not your typical Vietnamese restaurant. The flavors and the quality of the food are spectacular. The food did take some time, but that's probably cause we have a party of 8. Everything else was great

The place has a very inventive inside and streetside and back patio seating. The service was great. The fried chicken wings were disappointing. While they were very juicy, they weren't really crispy and so the fat wasn't rendered out. The lamb steamed buns were awesome, flavorful, and delicious. The spicy garlic noodles were good. The flank steak was perfectly cooked.

Overall rating: 4.9 I absolutely, absolutely love this place 😍😍 It’s been on my “want to try” list for awhile purely just because of the backyard. And it was totally worth it. I didn’t realize they were Vietnamese-French & I’m actually usually not a huge fan of fusion - but this food, so so good. I lovee their twist on the bao buns, I will come back just for them. I had the lamb shank which def could have been shared by two people vs just me. I was full halfway through. My friend had the duck which was also very good! Wish I had ordered something lighter. I was too full to get dessert. First world problems 😅 Will definitely be going back to try other dishes. The cocktails were also very good & the service was so nice! Highly recommend.

Very cute spot for good Vietnamese fare. Spicy garlic noodles, crepes and mushroom banh mi are delicious (papaya salad and the French toast are nothing special) and the lemonade is perfect for the summer

Great service, ambiance is really cool and very unique. Place is well kept, clean and with varying seating options either indoor, at the bar or table & back or front outside seating. It has a decent selection of Gluten Free options and some Vegan as well, food is delicious though their Pho Gha wasn’t expected & spicy compared to Regular Vietnamese Pho which I got from delivery & arrived hot at perfect temp & well packed. This time around I dined in and got a fish entrée & a drink. The dish was perfectly cooked & seasoned. The presentation was nice though not sophisticated. It was a great experience I sat at the bar & staff were friendly & very accommodating that the bartender even let me create a custom cocktail!, would definitely come back here and recommend.

Food and drinks were delicious and reasonably priced. Service was good and easy. There 5 of us seated outside in the covered space. It POURED for a about half the time we were there and not a leak in sight. Very sturdy construction. Can’t comment on the interior space though. Didn’t go inside. Will be back! *I réserve 5 Stars for the MOST exceptional experiences*

Amazing little (well not so little :)) gem, with a great outdoors space and cozy interior. Food is delicious!! Try the watermelon salad!!

What a fun spot! We saw the chef/owner of Bricolage on an episode of Beat Bobby Flay and decided to check it out. We got a main and three apps, and we could totally do that again with all different dishes and be super happy. Surprise of the night was the carrot soup (served cold) that was so delicious with the croutons and shallots and cream. We then got the soft shell crab which was yummy, and the eggplant purée on the side was even better (even though the color is not the most appetizing!!). We also got the red snapper as our main, and I would recommend only getting one fried dish as they tasted similar enough that you didn’t need both. The pork buns had thick cuts of pork belly, and made me want to try the lamb buns next time. I got the cocktail Gigi’s Brother and highly recommend it. I also tried the Vietnamese Gin & Tonic but didn’t care for it at all; I really appreciated the waiter swapping it out for another Gigi’s Brother. SO NICE!! The patio is, as everyone says, adorable and so eclectic with the little TVs and plants everywhere. It is definitely a gem and we will be back soon to try more items!

Appetizers of Imperial Rolls and eggplant with tofu were very good but the soft shell crab entree was disgusting: the crab was encased a heavy greasy batter. The accompanying zucchini salad wasn't tasty at all and I hardly touched it, but no one asked how it was.

This place was absolutely charming. Very eclectic interior, many old clocks and televisions. The food was delightful, tofu banh mi was delicious, the bread was so fresh and the side salad was refreshing! Also had noodles with grilled shrimp, some of the best shrimp ever. We also shared veggie spring rolls, delightful!!!

This place is incredible. Cozy eclectic but well-spaced ambiance. Every bite was delicious. We over-ordered but we managed to eat everything. Great drinks. Just a phenomenal experience. I personally love the lil TVs everywhere, and the frosted windows in the bathrooms are a lot of fun! We'll be back soon!

I wish we had tried this place sooner! What a fun place, in Park Slope. Good atmosphere and had brunch in their outdoor backyard that also has coverage, if it's too sunny, or rains. Good size patio to hold people, but not feel crowded. A very cute and eclectic setup. The food is so good we've gone back a few times already the past month, for brunch. I've read reviews of others here and I don't understand the ones with issues. Portion sizes leave you very full and the dishes we chose have a lot of flavor. Start off with iced Vietnamese coffee and Bloody Marys, we had their "Unshaking Beef & Eggs", "Open Faced Mushroom omelette", "Five Spiced chicken & Waffles" (which were crispy and juicy!), delicious side of brussel sprouts and other dishes. Oh, we also got their "Spicy Garlic Noodles with Steak" and boy they are serious when they say spicy. If you're not sure if you can handle it, you can ask for the spice on the side to add to your own content. Yes, it may not be the cheapest food, but for the price you expect quality and good ingredients and that's what you get. Go try it! We'll be back ourselves to try more dishes.

We love this Asian Fusion artsy place! Although overall a bit pricy, definitely worth it. The backyard was fantastic. You can see a great variety of collections of the traditional TVs. I love the plants and flowers in the dining backyard. If you want to set up a date or invite friends out, this place would be one of your best choice. Last but not least, food was great! We’d definitely visit back again.

Great food, quick service, warm staff and a very cozy ambience. We were seated in the backyard, which was well heated and had a very antique garage vibe. Got the tofu bahn mi and spicy garlic noodles, both of them were brilliant. The teal's beer on tap was brilliant.

There's nothing better than walking into a restaurant to find a diamond in the rough. First, Tyler treated us to a perfectly warm welcome, from his inventively delicious drinks, to an atmosphere that threw us back to 90s East Village, the good years, to compliment the outstanding menu. Second, kudos the chef and line staff. We had the bouillabaisse, chicken and lamb. Total tastebud explosion making this establishment one to return to often because of the menu's many dimensions. Every dish that came out for another table seemed better and better, even when our selections were a 10 out of 10. Perfectly grilled and spiced with a balance of heat. Very generous side of greens and different combos depending on the dish, the way they should be served. The bouillabaisse was a complete surprise...also inventive, chock full of fresh seafood and generously portioned, though served more like a stew, so ask about it first if what you have in mind is the more traditional dish. We can't wait to go back and back and keep telling the world about our outstanding experience. P.S. It's in the former location of Mary's Fish Camp, so it had to stand up, which it did, and then some.

Really interesting food. Ticks every boxes for a creative new Asian restaurant. Particularly the pancakes, oh so delicious. Really enjoyed the use of large chunk of grill vegetables too. Also really cool art installation in the bathroom. Cool space, interesting food, why not give it a try.
