Visiting Peter Luger is a must for any steak enthusiast. The classic New York steakhouse ambiance sets the stage for a memorable meal. The star is undeniably the dry-aged porterhouse – juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. The staff's friendly demeanor and the historic setting make it a perfect spot for steak lovers seeking an authentic NYC steakhouse experience. Be sure to bring your appetite! Absolutely, securing a reservation is crucial, and it's reassuring to know that the quality of the steak at this NYC steakhouse is reasonably priced[50$-100$/person] compared to others. Enjoy your meal!

Had an absolutely fabulous time at Peter Lugers. They have their esteemed reputation for a reason. Service was great and so was the atmosphere - and of course the food was amazing as well. You’ll definitely want to leave room for dessert!! A word of warning. Lugers has a parking lot but it was completely full when we arrived for dinner. Make sure to leave early in case you run into the same issue! Also here’s the drinks / cocktail menu!!

Truly superb food and very unique atmosphere. Having to pay by cash or debit card is a bit annoying but not the biggest deal in the world. Steaks are excellent and the sides are wonderful. Strongly recommended if you can get a reservation!

First time to Peter Lugers. It’s a non- nonsense steakhouse with the regular steak house fixings. Was very crowded. Had a reservation and took about 15 minutes to get seated, which was great considering all the people waiting to get in. Food was good. Bread bowl was good too- especially loved the onion rolls. They had onions in the middle. Started with shrimp cocktail. Shrimp were beautiful and very large. I actually loved the shrimp more with the Peter Luger steak sauce. I don’t usually eat steak sauce with my steak but it was tasty and went well with shrimp. It reminded me of cocktail sauce with a little brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce, and a smoother texture. We then ordered the steak for 2 - it was a 24oz porterhouse. It was cooked well to our liking and is topped with butter. Needed salt but I appreciate being able to control the salt to my liking. We also ordered German potatoes (skillet fried potatoes with onion) and creamed spinach. Not sure if they use much cream overall in the spinach or if it is just cooked and blended to more of a creamy texture. Ended our meal with a hot fudge sundae with we were tempted by when seeing it delivered to other tables. And we were given some yummy chocolate at the end. Overall a nice experience.

This is the original location. We enjoyed our lunch here. Great service and steak! The steak sauce was really good. They have a parking lot across the street which is convenient.

This is the steakhouse where all others now try to emulate. Till this day, Luger still set the bar for steak and now with their famous 1/2lb burger. From the minute you walk in and get that old world steakhouse vibe to their impeccable service and of course the meat, there’s simply nowhere else that can replicate. Keep doing what you been doing for 100 years. I will always be a loyal customer.

I’m going to speak very specifically about the Peter Luger burger. Although the burger doesn’t represent as great of a value as it once did, it still remains one heck of a burger. You get a half pound burger cooked to juicy perfection. I always opt for cheese and the bun is amazing. Their burger is served with raw onions, which are not my favorite and I would’ve preferred them to be cooked. But some people may prefer a raw onion. I also like their french fries. They’re not the thin crispy fries, but they are crispy on the outside and meaty in the middle which I kinda like. You don’t really get a ton of amazing atmosphere at Peter Luger, but the food is good. The service is decent and please remember they are cash only and the burger is only served until 3:45 PM. Still remains one of the best burgers in New York City and probably worth the price for the experience.

It was my first ever experience at this steakhouse and I was very excited. Old, rustic, traditional, interesting place. I would say prices are not insane versus the expectation based on their reputation. Ordered steak and rib steak. Rib steak is a bit fatter. Very large servings of wine under 20 per glass, very friendly staff. Great experience. I do recommend. It's not overrated.

100% one of our best meal in NYC, with reasonable price on very quality aged-steak. Steak itself is really nice with very juicy texture and excellent handling on cooking. The German potato rosti is absolutely a plus together with the oil on the steak plate. Crab cake is another must order item, with massive amount of pure crab meat, and crispy skin outside. Very recommended restaurant even if we wait quite a long time no matter we booked a month ago.

Objectively meets the hype - unabashedly brutish but confident in its character, Peter Luger is truly a NY institution. Steak is memorable but the thick cut bacon gives me dreams. Dessert is indulgent - be sure to plan a run before or after to burn the calories!
