Once again, I wish Google had more fine-grained ratings. If it did I'd give this venue 3 ½ stars. This is one of our Friday fall/winter go-to locations, as the bar usually has seats available and the food is, generally, inoffensive. Last night was no exception. The bar was not terribly busy, but was quite loud due to a group of enthusiastic and apparently well-lubricated young people. I seem to recall the place being much busier when it was Benchwarmer Bob's. The restaurant is large, as is the bar. Lots of seating. There's a nice private event space. The bar has plenty of TVs, and is a good place to watch sports - not too surprising considering this used to be one of the area's top Vikings game-day bars. I ordered the walleye entree which was just ok. The fish was well cooked but a bit too salty. The filet also a couple of small bones. The wild rice was also well cooked but somewhat bland. My wife had the walleye fingers (from the appetizer menu). They weren't bad. Service was fine, if a bit chaotic during the shift change. Our first server - Kayla - was especially pleasant and accommodating.
I was in there quite a while back and was very unhappy with the place. I went in tonight for happy hour and it's so different and great. The staff is very friendly and the food was super good. I was really impressed. I had a feeling that the ownership has changed. It's back to being really great again. Good job. I recommend this place now 100%.
Service was excellent. Love the menu, lots of old fashioned comfort food. Really nice outdoor patio with its own bar. Lots of tv’s to watch the games. They also have a nice dining area. Not the greatest location but worth it.
