We are very excited about the new ownership! The new owners will take a wonderful local store and are making it even better. We have been there several times - we love the pastries, the breakfast sandwiches are delicious, and the cappuccino is delightful. The egg cartons are better than any local grocery store in the region. Today we bought chicken cutlets and they were the best we ever had. The owners have an eye for quality and our dedicated to fostering a reliable high quality neighborhood resource.

Cool and has everything you need, maybe not everything you want. Their sandwiches are amazing. Better then lobster rolls and when asked if they had dish soap for sale they had just run pit but offered to put some in a dish for us. Good people

We love the general store. They just let my kids in as they were closing to get s’more supplies. Our family has been coming to this town for over 100 yrs. And supporting a local store is top priority

The greatest and best-smelling little shop you could ask for. Great cards and clever gifts and a great staff. Distinctly Maine, and totally wonderful

Very nice store, plenty of space to move around and view their vast selection of quality item's. We purchased Italian sandwiches from them the sandwiches were made with very high quality ingredients. We also purchased a small blueberry pie from them which was delicious. Outside their store they were picnic tables that we were able to sit at to enjoy our sandwiches and pie.

Cute BUT wish they would have prices on more of their products. I would have bought more items but the lady was alone on register and she always had someone up there. I didn't want to keep asking how much everything was. Gas pumps were old school, super fun.

Bougie take on the Maine General Store concept, not that I'm complaining, visitor from LA that I am. Literally no place else in Brooklin to buy similar items so, make sure its open. They have pizza, sandwiches, plenty of drinks and general store stuff. Had the pizza at the end of the day, very edible. Not open Mondays, they don't take cash.

Great pick up foods, wonderful coffee, marvelous baked goods, and quick groceries and pleasant service. Brooklin General is a great spot to go for any of the above. Well worth the trip no matter what.

Better than the average general store in Downeast. There’s a small cheese section, as well as wine. The quality of everything we've tried so far -- the breakfast sandwiches, the warm muffins and cinnamon buns (if you get their early!), and the egg salad and chicken salad which we've tried for lunch. They also have pizza and daily specials — I love the chef’s smoked ribs while my husband goes for his meatball sub for a treat. To top it, they carry a bunch of local good, the pantry staples all in the first wooden aisle, great local coffee and teas to grab, fresh foraged mushrooms when available, bags of salad greens in the summer and other local produce, and they cook up a fabulous feast of in-house made foods like their breakfast sandwiches, or burgers, or whatever special they are making, plus cold sandwiches or great deviled eggs for lunch, all throughout the day, and they have insanely good baked goods . . . But you can also get your regular "don't feel like driving all the way to the grocery store to get that one thing" type of buys, like Oakland milk, a frozen treat on a hot day, or salt for tomorrow's snow, regular household supplies, or a can of bug spray when you run out and just need it. They have nice tables to sit and eat and read the paper inside and outside, with benches along the storefront to sit in on in the fall and sip on some hot coffee and watch the town. And, probably one of the most important things for the locals like me, at least if you're one of us who leave the tank running on empty too often... they still have gas! Two pumps, right out front. Overall, really great job! Glad the first post-renovation summer season went well (but also happy to always have a parking spot available post-vacationers. 😉) Thanks for all you do!
