I loved the ambience of the place. Also I really enjoyed the different aromas and flavors of the place.
I can they can also do better by bringing in Card payments instead of just zelle/cashapp and Physical cash
Mama G’s restaurant mainly serves Ghanaian food and is one of the best Ghanaian food restaurants in that area of the Bronx.
They only lose a point because while the food is good, the only payment options present at the time of this review’s posting is cash, zelle or cashapp. Although a sizeable range, can serve as a deterrent for customers who don’t have either of those options.
I would personally recommend their waakye with everything included and fish.

Super tasty food! My first time trying Ghanaian food, got good recommendations a really friendly owner. We got fufu with goat, and spinach with fish and rice. Would go again! And bring more people next time!
Best Ghanaian food in the area. This location is way better than the restaurant on white plains road. It is larger and the food is better. My favorite is the spinach soup. I don’t advise getting pounded yam to go w it because you received a very small serving. Food is reasonably priced.
This was my first experience trying African food with my husband, we are Hispanic, wanted to step out of our comfort zone. So we had fufu and soup with spinach, greeted by this young lady who was so full of love and life. We told her that we had never tried African food and she went on a taste test with me one soup after the other. Her patience was so appreciated! We purchased my food, and went on to eat. The food for our first time was AMAZING! the spice was just right amount of heat, fish was cooked to perfection and fufu tasted great. I’m a texture kind of girl so the fufu really wasn’t my texture type and I told the young lady exactly that. amazing amazing customer service! the food was great!!the fact that she was so lovely and understanding. You don’t see that much anymore ! I give this place 5 stars because of how good the food was but the lovely vibes it gave as well.
I don’t know why this place has some bad reviews, but the service here was great to be honest. You seat yourself. On the main floor or downstairs which they have a bar and feels more private. The food is GREAT! But SUPER SPICY if you don’t LIKE SPICY NOT FOR YOU! Lol my lips where on fire! I had fufu and I believe it was cow foot soup. The guy at the bar knew what I was coming for when I walked over there. He also asked if the other at my table needed water🤣 I went here with my aunt, sister, & my Nigerian brother. But this was what I had that day. We all had fufu just different soup. Also don’t get what I had to drink! Does not help with cooling a burning mouth! 🤣
Food is fresh and flavorful! Their portions are the African portions! Hefty and Filling as you should expect. The light soup is my favorite, the pepper in that will clear your cold
This place was very inviting the food was great service staff was on point made me feel like I was in Africa thank you ! Great service and food .
If you want to try some fantastic West African cuisine, this is a great place to start. The food is tasty, and the staff is fantastic.
My trip is not completed if I don't go to mama G in NY . Her food taste better be and affordable
