I love this place and its people! Though mostly music, they also have open mic nights, comedy shows, paint nights, and I saw a wonderful one-woman show there. The comedy shows are great and not as pricey as Manhattan. The light fare is yummy and Jenny's Sweets provides DELICIOUS desserts. Plus you can BYOB!

The Artist is a special place on City Island in the Bronx, and Elliot and Monica, the proprietors, very special people. It's a welcoming, inclusive and very familial space devoted to the creation and expression of art in whatever form. The Artist is a BYOB establishment that serves "light fare". Be warned that traffic getting onto City Island can be a bit slow, but once past the entry bottleneck you're pretty much free and clear.
