The coffee here was very good but the cheesecake was alright. For a place that pride's itself for it's cheesecake they can do better. The crust was lackluster and the cake itself is not as rich as it can be. It's a 6.5 out of 10 compared to be the best that NYC has to offer. If I was in the neighborhood I would swing by maybe but I am not going out of my way to grab a slice. I do like the owner, the people here and the calm friendly environment. Hence the 4 out of 5 stars.
Local legend that still holds up. My family has been coming here for years. Dense. Not too sweet. Creamy. Plain crust so the cheese filling is what takes precedence in the palette. Cash only $$
Gifted this amazing cheesecake from family in New York. We live in the San Francisco Bay Area. So, so, delicious!! Shipped to us in its box in another box with dry ice & wrapped in a thermal silver bag. Absolutely amazing! What a treat! Next time would love to try their chocolate cheesecake.
My family have been getting cheesecakes from here since they opened as a small bakery. My grandmother was good friends with Fred Schuster, and was a loyal customer when he opened. Fred's son in law, Yair runs it now, and to this day, it's still the best cheesecake in New York! It's totally worth the visit! I guarantee that you will not be disappointed visiting here.
A definitive ny style cheesecake. An absolute staple of the Bronx, and new York Christmas. I been eating s and s cheesecake since I was a kid. And I'll keep eating it till I'm real old.
Not too many selections, just like cheese cake was intended, just rich, creamy cake with a flavorful and firm crust. No graham crackers here, just classic cheesecake.
Had the plain cheesecake and it was just OK! I do not agree with the reviews here as have had better cheesecake than S and S and would by far never claim it is the best in NYC. No way!!! Clearly peeps here have more cheesecake sampling to do as well as upgrade their palette experience.
Firstly, the cheesecake was not moist and while dry was burnt on the top too. It was cheap as $2.50 a slice but the price did not make up for the misleading reviews on yelp of their awesomeness. Highly disappointed and not worth the trek
Every cheesecake given as a gift is so appreciated it’s better than a bottle of wine. And the lady that works there is so very nice and courteous service I travel from New Jersey too buy a large already sliced and 2 - small more than for more than 18 years Excellent Gift
Hands down the best cheesecake in NYC. It's best to get one while its warm and fresh, but their hours stink, so I usually end up opting for a frozen one from a local store. My go-to dessert to serve to company or to take when we visit people out of town. I just wish their online prices weren't so steep. They're really inexpensive when you buy one at their store or locally, but ordering online is crazy expensive even before you add shipping.
We love getting cheesecakes from here. Great pricing and ignore the décor. This is just a place to pick up what you want and need in your merry way. The cakesaren't too sweet and are very dense (so if you like light and fluffy cheesecakes, these are not for you). Be prepared and bring cash as they do not accept credit card. Street parking is hard to find, I recommend arriving via public transpiration.
If you’re about cheese cake and the Bronx then you already know. If you’re not then go check em out. No fuss, cash only, straight up cream cheese cheesecake. Probably the best host gift you can bring to a dinner or party.
