Sitting outside of this fine establishment I didn’t know what to expect. All I know is that I was hungry and I didn’t want to go to the same old places that have failed to make an impression on me time and time again. Little did I know that this place would implant an impression on me far beyond what I thought a restaurant could.
Looking at the sign outside I said to myself and my family “am I underdressed for this place?” The answer was no. Walking in gave me the since that I was welcome just like I was walking into my own home.
We were greeted by a young man with a friendly smile and a very down to earth attitude. He said, “you can sit where ever you like.” Looking around to see we and another lovely couple were the only ones in there.
The atmosphere was as if I walked into someone’s lovely home with memorabilia of various musical artist and certificates of awards won by Machiavelli displayed proudly. Our waitress was all smiles and always had something positive to say when we ordered or asked for something extra (like ranch or to go boxes).
We ordered cheese sticks, the Sunday special which was two large two topping pizzas for $20 and cheese manicotti.
The bread from the cheese sticks had just the right amount of crunch to them and still soft enough to melt in your mouth. The bread and crust on the pizza had a good amount of crunch to it which is great to see with the right amount of toppings layered perfectly to proportion. I usually eat pizza with ranch as with most people do nowadays but with this pizza you can take it or leave it. I’m not sure how the cheese manicotti was but the person who ate it seemed to enjoy eat it till the last bite.
I’ve never wrote a review good nor bad on any restaurant before. I couldn’t pass up this opportunity to show my gratitude to everyone from the hostess, our waitress, and other staff members we didn’t get the pleasure to meet like the chefs.
It made me and my family’s evening and this place deserves to be a on everyone’s radar because restaurants like these are a dying breed.
Thank you all!
Visited Machiavelli's during our Christmas stay in Bristol. The Per Meat Amoré pizza I ordered is the best pizza I have ever eaten anywhere in the world, and that includes Italy! Special thanks to our favourite waitress, Mikal.
The decor is fantastic. Great pizza and pasta. Friendly service. Only have good things to say about this place. Details right down to how awesome the bathroom looks is what sets places like this apart! Love everything about it, including the price and can't wait to return for date night
The restaurant had a quaint feel to it. Very rustic decor. Service was nice, but menu was limited due to running out of chicken and most dishes called for chicken. Example chicken Marsalis but without the chicken. Other than that everything was nice.
Super great pizza and the service was exceptional ! Would go back !
I love this place, it's a small cozy nook just off state street. The best pizza sauce around. The only thing negative I can think of is they don't open til 4pm.
Amazing food.... Good service .....a hidden gem
