Party of 7 quickly accommodated with 3 children. The wait was worth it! Arugula salad with bacon topped peppercorn dressing. Spinach and feta omelette with sausage added. The loaded Home Fries everyone loved. Sausage and gravy - the pic doesn’t do it justice. Everyone planning a return visit. Sour dough Elder bread. Wow!
I had been wanting to try this place for a while now. I finally got the chance. The food was amazing. The French toast was so decadent! But the coffees we had were to DIE for!! And they also have alcoholic coffee which I thought was super interesting. The only reason I have the food four stars was because the spicy sausage biscuit and gravy was a little much for me visually and taste wise. This dish was not for me that’s what I will say. Over all great experience and can’t wait to go back!
Update on second visit: This place was just as good as when I first met it. There are some out-of-this-world meals being made in The Early Bird Eatery, and I enjoyed every bite!
Food: 5/5 (wow!!)
Service: 5/5 (wow!!)
Atmosphere: 5/5 (wow!!)
I have zero complaints about The Early Bird Eatery. What a beautiful restaurant in South Bend! This restaurant is inviting from the minute you walk in the door. You are greeted, seated, and given a menu and a pitcher of water; I have to say, I appreciated the pitcher of water at the table so I didn't have to bug the waiter as I love water.
The decor of the restaurant is very attractive, which adds to the experience. The bathrooms are clean and so is the restaurant.
The atmosphere is amazing! If this atmosphere is created in the morning, I can only imagine how it feels in the afternoon! I love the different personalities and styles of the staff and restaurant!
The food is rich and to cry for. Awwwww! There are so many great flavors and beautiful presentations. What excited me was that The Early Bird Eatery got the small details right. The small details made the dish very delicious! I recommend anyone who can experience this restaurant to please go. All in all, The Early Bird Eatery is a favorite that I will cherish forever.
I was in town for a family event and stopped by this delightful little brunch place with a family member. It was easy to find, the food was impeccable, and the service was top notch. Also - their sourdough bread is where it’s at! Cute option for drinks with brunch or non-alcoholic coffee and juices. It has a very earthy and friendly vibe throughout.
Great place and great food. The food was freshly made. The people were warm and friendly. A highly recommended place if you are in the area
I’m visiting from Va Beach, VA and I just need everyone to know that this was hands down the best eggs Benedict I’ve ever eaten. Wish I could take this place back to VA with me!!! Service was lovely, atmosphere and decor were beautiful, and everything was delicious! Not pictured but also perfect were the cheesy grits as well as my hubby’s dish of biscuits and gravy.
Benedicts and potatoes are delectable! I had my elderly mom with me who always forgets to bring her glasses and can't read the menu. Our server, Rikeesha sat down next to her and read the menu to her❤️. Great friendly, fast service❤️. Highly recommend!!!
This was my first time here and it was phenomenal. It was very busy because of restaurant week and I had to park in 15 min parking when I mentioned needing to move Shanna my server was nice enough to mention that the garage nearby is free for the first 2 hours. I ordered the Monte Cristo and it was great. I do think it should have had more jelly on it because that was the best part but I ordered extra on the side. It was slightly loud but that's because of the lunch rush.
I was in the DTSB area and decided to give this place a try. Overall atmosphere is pretty nice and relaxing. My server was Keesh and she was very knowledgeable and helpful. The menu options are small but definitely come with lots of flavor. This was a breakfast date with my youngest daughter. She had the peaches and cream French toast and I had the crab cake eggs Benedict. Both were good and the portions were a nice size. Definitely plan to go back and try the rest of the menu throughout the year!
Service here was fantastic. Food was good. I regret not ordering the French toast or pancakes which appear to be absolutely decadent. The table next to me ordered them and I instantly wished I hadn’t went the savory rout for brunch. Mezcal Bloody Mary was pretty good.
