Ocean Queen Diner & Restaurant

I used to come here with my family every Sunday. They have great food and most of the employees are relatively nice. Though, today I experienced an awful experience with an employee. This made me not want to come here again. From the beginning, they were not very nice - we found a hair in our food (but this was not her fault), she asked where the hair was located as if she could replace a part of the food? I mean, I would like all of the food to be replaced, don’t you think? Anyway, when we asked for more creamers, she pointed out that we had like 3 of them in our table (there were 4 of us), but when a customer asks for something, normally the waitress would just go and get it for us - this was not even the worst part. Once the bill came, it was $76, we paid, and because my mother who doesn’t have a lot of money with her, left a $4 tip. Sure, this is not the best tip, but it is something, especially because the bill was already a lot... Once we left, my aunt noticed that our waitress was holding the receipt on her hand, showing off to all of the customers and shouted: “can you believe they left me only a $4 tip?!” (there were around 10-15 customers there). I understand she had the right to be upset, but embarrassing customers (regular customers)? Clearly, this was unprofessional of her, whichever side you are on. She could’ve complained about it with her co-workers, friends, family, whoever, but she shouldn’t have done that in front of everyone, especially after we left the diner. Also, I understand that they live off tips, but here in New Jersey, tips are not mandatory, it’s not New York, especially if a customer does not have enough money to leave a $20 tip behind, this shouldn’t be expected by every customer. This used to be one of my favorite diners, but not anymore. The food is fine here, some of the employees not so much.

Our server was outstanding. The storm was over us thunder blowing rain .wind she never notice just kept giving us great service..sorry I cant remember the servers name but we were at Brick dinner Friday 28 at 5:55. Our receipt does not have her name or transtration shows but it was transaction #35 account 9591. We love the food. Thanks for a great night out.
