Passing through Historic Downtown Brenham on Sunday morning and this was the only place we could find that was open early. Wanted breakfast but they stopped serving at 10:00 (we arrived almost 10:30). Stayed for lunch and enjoyed it. Service wasn’t overly friendly but efficient. (The Grill is right next door to the Ant Street Inn. Keep in mind that none of the downtown shopping is open on Sunday except for a couple shops that open at 12 or 1 pm.)
The Brenham Grill is one of those somewhat hidden places that can be found in a lot of small cities. It's in the old Ant Street Inn in the Brenham Historic District (a nice place to stay if you're spending a night in Brenham) and is a pleasant low key place with a nice atmosphere at food that's reliably good, particularly the "South of the Border" selections. We live locally and have been eating at the Brenham Gill for years...no complaints yet.
My new favorite in Brenham! Taco salad was delicious. Would like to have Cilantro ranch with it. (Hint, hint) Lunch companions had the Enchiladas de Cream and Tostados. YUM!!! Looking forward to the visit!
My husband and I had a wonderful lunch here! Amazing service, quality food for a fair price. The sweet tea was fantastic, refills were spot on for the hot day. Complement bread was warm and unique, we had not had anything like it before. The owner seems to be waiting on tables and his team was amazing. Just the prefect balance of old school charm, and quick service. The wait staff was extremely attentive. Give this place a chance it was wonderful.
Old time feeling inside the restaurant. Has the look and feel of having been a saloon at one time.
Service was good and staff friendly.
Typical Southern food fare. Chicken fried steak was on the small side compared to other Southern restaurants.
Peach cobbler with Blue Bell ice cream was delicious but received a corner piece of cobbler which was hard and chewy. Get a middle piece if you order it.
Overall good experience.
Great breakfast! Friendly staff, complete menu, quick service and great food. Everything came out hot and correct. Coffee cup never went below half full before someone came by offering more. Prices are very responsible. Highly recommend this place for breakfast.
Terrific little place attached to a local inn. Great food with very generous portions of down-home cooking. We had the pork chops, meatloaf, mashed potatoes with gravy, skillet potatoes, fried okra, and green beans. The atmosphere is elegant, southern style. The food was very reasonably priced with more than ample portions. Wait staff was very polite, friendly and attentive without being intrusive.
