August Moon

August Moon is our go to Chinese takeout restaurant. We like their lunch specials that come with pork fried rice (or white rice) and soup. They make the BEST general tso's chicken and moo shu pork. Their kung pao chicken, chicken with brocolli, pork with garlic sauce, and hot and spicy beef are very good too.

Our usual Chinese food place has been completely shut down since Covid hit the area in March, so we tried August Moon. The restaurant has been in this location for many years, so they must be doing something right. My wife and I ordered pork chow fun and pork egg foo young, with steamed dumplings for appetizers. The egg foo young came as a combination platter, so it had fried rice and an egg roll. I liked the egg foo young, and the egg roll and rice were very good. My wife did not like the chow fun, so I tried some. It was OK, but not very tasty. The steamed dumplings were not that good either; kind of tasteless, but to be fair, they WERE steamed, not fried. The steamed dumplings from our usual place were always very good, so our bar is pretty high. Overall, the food was good but not great, and I was satisfied enough.
