Comfortable/Good Food. Village Tavern
Boynton Beach, Fl.
My DA took us here for dinner one night and it's in a very nice looking complex. The place is big and comfortable and even with a lot of people the noise levels are very tolerable. The booths are big and comfy. Started with soups, the Tomato Basil & French Onion were both delicious. We all got some sort of steak dishes and were all happy with our choices. I got the Steak 'n Fries, which was a sliced piece of center cut sirloin with a port wine sauce, the steak was really tender and delicious. It came with very good French Fries that were crisp and tasty and had an actual real potato taste to them (many don't). At $18.95 I felt this was a good deal. They have a full bar but if you opt for soda, they are free refills. We got an array of desserts and shared them, all delicious, the Key Lime Pie (although I usually like a little thicker graham cracker crust), the Carrot Cake (served warm) was deemed the best ever, & the Banana Crepes with nutella were heavenly. Waitstaff were fast and friendly.

Absolutely amazing! Knowing that we were going to have turkey for days after Thanksgiving, my husband and I visited the Village Tavern for our pre-turkey day dinner date.
Originally, I ordered the prime rib - but, they were out. So, I decided to go with my second choice, the ribeye. My husband and I both ordered them medium rare (garlic mashed potatoes and green beans as my sides and my husband had the white beans and spinach). When the steaks arrived, mine was beautiful and cooked to perfection. It was tasty and so were my sides! Needless to say, I ate it all. My husband enjoyed his white beans - they were very garlicky and were perfectly cooked. BUT, because the beans had SO much flavor, we believed that it overpowered his palette and he was not as impressed with the steak as I was. The service was just okay - they could've been a little more attentive, in my opinion. Because of how wonderful my meal was - I will definitely visit again. Only this time, earlier - so I can try the prime rib.
Great Food!. My friends and I had a fantastic experience yesterday. The Food was great and the service was outstanding.
Yummy. We went here for my husband's birthday, and had a good overall experience. We had reservations, however still waited 40 mins for a table. Was a date night, so we did not mind waiting for a little while, however dinner was slow. The food was very good and we finished it all. My husband had the steak, which he said was good enough to lick the plate. I had the spaghetti squash, yummy. Absolutely would go back again.

Great Addition to the Developing Scene in Boynton Beach. Boynton Beach (along Congress Avenue) has gone through a redevelopment over the past couple of years -- and it's now a happening destination. The Village Tavern is illustrative of the new business that call Boynton Beach home.
I was fortunate to have a 'tastecasting' dinner last evening with 5 other South FL foodies so between all of us at the table, we got a real taste and appreciation of what the kitchen offers.
Appetizers run the gamut of Asian-inspired items like Ahi Tuna Sashimi to a delicious whole wheat Margherita flatbread pizza to our favorite, the bowl of Prince Edward Island mussels in a garlic, shallot and pesto broth.
Another standout was the Spinach Salad which surprised with bacon, green apples, cranberries, blue cheese, spiced pecans + apple muffin! It was delicious.
Entrees around the table were Grouper, Steak Au Poivre, Lamb Rib Chops, Short Ribs, Scallops and a vegetarian Spaghetti Squash and Zucchini. All were served with appropriate sides.
Village Tavern has a nice dessert menu BUT I urge you to order the Banana Crepes which were spectacular in presentations and taste (crepes, nutella, banana ice cream, caramel + chocolate sauces with chocolate covered expresso beans). Wow - definitely a table share type dessert.
VT is large, attractively decorated restaurant with a separate bar area which contains high tops, large bar and booths for dining. There are also tables outside.
The menu offers 60 varieties of wine. There is a wine for every taste and every wallet.
Good. Our number one choice was booked so a last minute change of plans was in order. The Village Tavern in the Renaissance Commons in Boynton Beach was the final destination. My wife had a garden salad and I opted for the French onion soup. Salad is salad and the soup was good (a little light on the cheese topping). She also had the Tilapia which she said was good. I chose the 10 Spice Glazed Salmon with couscous which was very good. Crowded, noisy, nicely decorated, decent service but you will need a reservation during the season. And get there early, as parking was hard to find on an early (6:30pm) Friday night.
Village Tavern is a great value with exceptional quality of food, great atmosphere with friendly and helpful service. I look forward to going back to try the large selection of pasta and chicken dishes.
While the bar area was buzzing and might be considered a bit noisy by some, the dining room was more relaxed
Went to try a different restaurant to found it closes early on Sunday so we decided to go the Village tavern.
Very nice restaurant with a large menu. It was very quiet on a Sunday night.
We both chose burgers, my wife ordered the ONION MUSHROOM CHEESE BURGER with sautéed onions, mushrooms, mozzarella, lettuce, and tomato. I got the COWBOY BURGER with applewood-smoked bacon, caramelized onions, barbecue sauce, and Cheddar.
They come on a choice of bread and we chose the brioche, also a choice of sides, I got the French fries and my wife chose the sweet potato fries.
Good burgers
The food was amazing. It's always good but the wait can be long at times. We had the tavern flatbread, calamari and chicken parm.
Lively tavern atmosphere with good food. Marsala was great, seared tuna appetizer was well plated with ginger sauce...nice! Great drinks!
Good food, not too loud, nice atmosphere , friendly staff.
