I had the Veggie eggs Benedict with bacon added and it was awesome!! It was like a BLT but as a Benedict! The home style potatoes tasted a little funny to me, like they were cooked in oil that was overused, but otherwise great food, great lattes, and great service! Recommend this place to meet friends for brunch! Will be back!

Great food, nothing fancy. Just simple food done well. Great breakfast scrambles and fresh sandwiches. They make great coffee drinks served in real cups and mugs. Good home like atmosphere.

Not sure if we just had bad luck or what but we had an awful experience.. We went to Alexa's about 9:30 am on a Sunday. We were told there would be a 15 minute wait and were seated with no issue. The problems came after we ordered. We waited for about 30 mins and not only did our food not come out, our waiter never came back to the table to check on us. The restaurant was almost full and I get they were busy but please at least be properly staffed on the busiest breakfast morning of the week. We got a little agitated and started looking around for our waiter. The manager must have seen us looking around and came up to our table and asked if she could bring our 2 year old some crackers. I asked her if our food would be coming soon that we had been waiting almost 40 minutes at this point. She rather rudely stated that they were busy that there were 26 tickets in the kitchen. Honestly I don't think the customers need to know how many tickets there are. She said we could still expect to still wait 15 more minutes. After she left we saw 2 other tables that had been seated a good time after us get their food. At this point, my husband was ready to leave. I convinced him to stay and when our food finally came out (pancakes, scrambled eggs, fruit, and toast -- not exactly hard to make) it wasn't even hot - lukewarm at best. The waiter would hardly look at us and my husband informed him we were very unhappy and didn't feel like we should have to pay for the meal. He left without saying a word or filling our empty waters or bringing us the fork we were missing. The manager finally came over and said we didn't have to pay for our meal that it would be coming out of our waiter's paycheck. I think the manager needs to work on her customer service skills -- instead of apologizing and asking what she could do to make it better it felt like she was trying to guilt trip us. All this to say -- there are an abundance of excellent restaurants in Seattle and the surrounding areas. If you can't handle a Sunday rush with the best and at least have a competent manager I will take my money elsewhere.

We found this place when in town for a wedding on urbanspoon. They were quick to seat us and super accommodating of our 5 month old and his tired antics. They didn't hesitate to fulfill our every whim and made us laugh while doing it. Thank you Alexa's!

How this is only 84%, I don't understand. This should be in the 90's. Urban spooners definitely cannot rate this next to a $20 plated restaurant. Combine value, service and meal people. Definitely a great meal. Favorite is Venitian or Willow scramble!

Dissapointing food and waitress. I took my daughter here for a special breakfast treat and was suprised at how bad both the food and waitress were. I ordered the crab eggs benny and asked, "Can the cook make my potatoes crispy?"<br/> I was told by the waitress she would put it on the ticket. My daughter had french toast and hot chocolate. I paid $2 for a soda that was served in a can and a glass with ice and when I asked I was told there are no refills. My $12.95 breakfast arrived lukewarm and very bland. I added quite a bit of salt to try and flavor up what should have been a great dish and tried to eat a few bites of the undercooked potatoes with no seasoning whatsoever on them. When another waitress came by to take my plate I asked her if the potatoes looked crispy or even normally cooked. She replied no and I asked her to show our waitress, who had up to this point been cool and not friendly. When our waitress came by I asked if she had seen the plate and she hadn't. I explained how I had asked for cripsy potatoes and had undercooked, non seasoned potatoes instead. She became rude and tersely explained the grill was too small to cook them crisp even if she puts that on the ticket. I asked why she didn't tell me that when I ordered so I could ask for a substitution and she just shrugged and walked off. I paid $28 for what should have been a delicous breakfast for 2 and had subpar food ( even my 10 year old though the french toast was no better than what Denny's makes) and a rude waitress. In this economy you would think they would treat customers better and offer a better value on drinks. We will not return.

I have been to Alexa's on numerous occasions and originally went then over a year ago or so due to a groupon/ living social deal. I must say, price aside, they have delicious breakfasts. My usual either eggs benedict or crab Benedict is amazing. I tried the blueberry pancakes as well and everything I have ever had was superb. I do always use the groupon now deals with a friend but with that deal, for the price the food is amazing! Pretty good service around 9-10am. The only times I have ever been there.

Alexa's Cafe. Met a friend for breakfast this morning, told about 10 min wait and were seated about 30 min. later. Waitress showed up and was not at all friendly or inviting. We ordered our food which showed up 40 min. later. This was a Sunday morning, yes it was busy BUT, plan for it! The waitress (Danica) never returned to our table once she took our order - no refill of water, or coffee, inquiry about our meal, whether we wanted anything else! She dropped off the check and didn't say a word. Many of my friends have stopped coming here because of the "rudeness" they have incurred. Oh, and the food? Roast beef dip... 3 skinny pieces of dry meat on a roll for nearly $10. Not my idea of a reason to come back anytime soon.

Best brunch in Bothell! Laid back atmosphere, healthy fare, and they keep the coffee coming. Scrambles are a good choice. Even if you're cutting carbs, as for fruit instead of potatoes but don't skip the toast--it's made in a local bakery and is wonderful!

Nice service, food is bland. Stopped here for breakfast last weekend, place was pretty packed. Ordered eggs with a side of pancakes. The eggs were hardly cooked, you know its bad when you have to eat your eggs with a spoon. The pancakes were blah, even with a hefty amount of syrup we couldn't force ourselves to finish the plate. The toast was the best part of the meal. <br/><br/>The price was way too high for the quality of food, with three other cafe's within a stone's throw distance you would think the competition would make the food better. If you read this, skip on Alexa's and try out the other cafes in town.

Always Great. Decided this morning that I wanted to go to my favorite cafe with my 3 year old daughter and my fiance. Once again they didn't disappoint. I had their Italian Omelet (with cheddar instead of parmesan). My daughter had the french toast bites, and my fiance had the egg sandwich. The roasted red potatoes on mine were seasoned with something amazing. Her egg sandwich was huge but must have been delicious because it was all gone by the end of the meal. And the french toast bites were perfectly sized for my daughter. Also, while they were hoping (always are on a Saturday morning), we did get seated quickly and service was great as always.

Service was less than desireable. We had a party of six when we walked in on a saturday afternoon. the hostess told us to wait while they put a table together. so, we waited and waited...and waited (while the hostess' caught up on their personal lives). it was only until i was walking to the restroom that the bus boy stopped me and asked if i needed to be seated. he sat our party right away. after we sat down, we waited and waited and waited as our server walked past us a handful of times or so without acknowledging us in the least. she rudely came up and asked if we were ready to order, which we did. she didn't even take a beverage order! she snapped at us a few times for bothering her when we asked for more cream for our coffee, more jelly for our toast, etc. the food was ok. i had eaten there once before and ate the eggs benedict and thought they were good. this is why i thought our out of town guests would like this place. i was sadly mistaken and will never dine there again let alone bring out of town guests! being a waitress myself, i understand when servers are busy and can't get to their tables as much as they would like. this was not the case. this was a case where the hostess' and our server just would rather us not be there, and they blatantly let us know that by their lack of actual service, not to mention their eye rolling and just plain ignoring us. being that the food was just ok this time, we may have given this place another chance had we had decent service. but with the AWFUL service and ok food, we will never spend another dime there!

Delicous and tasted homemade! The food was great and even on a Sunday the wait was short after we ordered. Wait staff was efficient and friendly! We had two later arrivals and they offered to hold their food under the warmer and brought their coffee right away, although ithe coffee was so- so. Lastly, the portions were very managable. We will be coming back!

Comfort Food & Charm. It's rare to find a cafe where the waitresses remember your name, let alone your usual breakfast order. The owner of Alexa's Cafe, Leigh, makes sure her staff members take pride in the cozy, homey feeling of the cafe, and it shows. Cozy chairs, warm yellow walls and wonderful food combine to create a uniquely down to earth place to relax and enjoy friends. It's not just a cafe, it's a second home. Try the chocolate chip cookies with a cup of coffee--YUM!

I'm confused at the two previous reviews. We have eaten at Alexa's many times with our two young children and never had a problem. I don't let my children play on the floor. When we are there my kids grab a toy and play with it at the table. Leigh has always been very friendly with my kids. My daughter's name is Alexa so she has to talk to her about that every time we are there. I would feel completely comfortable reccommending families with young ones eat here.

Yolanda. Our experience at this café was shocking. The staff were nice but unfortunately the owner is extremely rude. We were all shocked by her behavior, bad mood, and temperament. I'm surprised a business owner runs her company in such an unprofessional manor. After talking to others about our experience today, I was not surprised to learn this is not the first time a bad experience has happened at the Alexa's Café. We will defiantly never support this business again, and will gladly not recommend it to any of our friends or family in the community. <br/><br/>Very disappointed.

NOT KID FRIENDLY!!!!!!!. This morning I went to have a nice breakfast with 5 other moms and their children, there were 6 moms and 5 kids. It was early on a Wednesday morning while our older kids were in preschool and we thought it would be fun to have a nice breakfast together and decided to go down the street to Alexa's to enjoy a nice time of breakfast and socializing. It was pretty empty so we let our kids go over to the toy basket, not sure why they have this, and play on the floor as they were not disturbing anyone else. They were over there for quite awhile playing and they did spread out the toys in the area they were in but we were going to clean it up and they was no one sitting anywhere near them. No one said anything about it and then not too long before we were going to leave the owner, Leigh Henderson, came over to the kids, not the parents, and very rudely told them that this was not their house and they needed to clean up their mess. We were very surprised and shocked. We cleaned it up and decided it was time to leave. Two of our group went up and talked to her about it and she offered no apology whatsoever and was very rude to them!!! You would think if there was a problem something would have been said much earlier and in a much nicer manner to us the parents and we would have gladly taken care of it. You would also think that in this economic climate when people are cutting down on discretionary spending that you as a restaurant owner would be happy to have 11 people in your restaurant on a Wednesday morning ordering breakfast. Well needless to say none of our group plans to visit their restaurant again after how we and our children were treated. So we are not sure why they even have a toy basket there and you definitely want to think before going there if you have kids!!!!!!

Best Breakfast for Miles. Whenever I have family visiting from outside the Seattle area, or some friends coming "up north" to Bothell from the south end of King County, I insist that we do breakfast at Alexa's. The most exciting thing I learned in 2008 was that owner Leigh also opened an Alexa's at Swanson Nursery in Seattle. All of you Ballard folks need to stop in a try this place. The comfort you'll find is not just from the excellent food -- the atmosphere and the staff area all amazingly welcoming.

Uncommonly good service and food. I love this place for breakfast, and their lunch specials look attractive as well. The setting is small town (which Bothell is) and it's not overly cutesy. Its closer in the Maltby Cafe (another favorite) and less CRAZY BUSY.
