Great old school Chinese place. There are ZERO of these places in Central Boston. It definitely scratches an itch if you live in that area and are looking for a quick classic Chinese food spot. The service was great, the gentleman working at the front was very nice and accommodating. The eating area is fairly small, so I would recommend takeout. Order online and pickup is super easy.
The best hot and sour soup ever! I have had the soup and deep fried dumplings all past 20 years , sure, price have gone up like others but the quality is still there above standard! Try the soup, it’s really good!
Excellent food, fast and friendly service. Solid pick when you’re craving Chinese food. My favorite was the boneless spareribs— tender and meaty, not over cooked or fatty. Delicious! We’ll be back.

I've been buying food un this place everyday for the last month, everything here is delicious except number 7 hahaha but that's preferences, but still excellent service and excellent food.
Been eating here since I was a kid and they still have amazing food. I think they changed the recipe to their orange chicken (it looked different a couple of times) but everything is amazing! Usually do takeout but I have gone in person to get a single combo platter for myself; good price and okay waiting times. They get flooded with take out orders very often so I expect to wait no more than 10 min for the plate. They’re very timely with their orders.
Excellent food, if not the best Chinese food I've had! Food comes out hot and well done! Great customer service, very friendly and welcoming!

Great chef has been a staple in my food regimen for a long time and deserves so. There used to be 2 locations for them,day square in east Boston and Bennington st., near Orient Heights, also in east Boston. Never had a faster delivery service, or nicer employees since I started buying takeout from the great chef. Also they have the most time span for delivery service than anyone, 10am-3am in the morning. Try to beat that with delivery service, and they're recipe is like a comfort food. It would relax me afterwards. Knowing that I just had a healthy home cooked meal and keeps me filled for hours
4 stars because the egg roll was so bad I spit it out during first bite but salt and pepper wings were amazing
