Order anything that comes with the black bean sauce. The clams are really good but my favorite is the eggplant and tofu. Good size portion and comes with rice.

We have been going to Kantin for 20 years. The food is always fabulous and the new owners are incredibly kind and always ask about our kids when we sneak away for lunch. Definitely recommend them!

Their hours on Google are wrong. It says they close at 4pm, but they were open at 5pm when I went. I has their Peking duck buns, pork with string beans, and spicy salted fish with a side of rice. Peking duck buns and pork with string beans were me and my fiancé's favorite. The fish wasn't bad- the crispiness was there but it wasn't salted. The rice was lacking something. I can't put my finger on what it's missing, but it was a little dry.

It’s rare to find authentic Cantonese food outside of Chinatown - this place is a gem. Their food is delicious and reminds me of HK, right down to the fresh bbq and roast pork; Brighton-Allston is extremely lucky to have a place that serves it traditionally, freshly cut to order. If you’re coming here looking for General Tso’s, this ain’t it - but if you’re looking for legit Cantonese food, Kantin’s got it.

Excellent food! We got the spicy salted chicken, Hunan chicken with jalapeños, and spicy string bean with pork. Everything was made quickly and delicious, and the staff was helpful and friendly

Pretty tasty roast duck and pork, but I wish they gave more sauce. Also the rice is sometimes a bit cold. Looking forward to trying out the rest of their large menu!

Kantin has a wide selection of dishes all cooked pretty well. You can probably find certain dishes prepared better at other places and prices that are better but this location produces a wide range of decent food for folks looking to grab a few entrees to serve family style or the casual diner looking for a plate meant to serve one.

The location is a bit out of the way for me but the quality of the food especially the duck buns and char sui (roast pork) make it worth it. The staff are very nice and happy.

Yo I only order one thing out of the entire menu (at least regularly, I have tried other items) but this place is really nice! Nice staff and really really good food!

My family and I love coming here! They have so many dishes that we grew up eating in our Chinese family. I recommend getting a roasted meat combo. The roasted pork and duck are my favorite. Also, their congee is great.
