Such a gem! Finally stopped by for cocktails and a light bite the other night and Porter Belly’s exceeded my expectations! Prices are extremely fair with generous portions and high quality ingredients. The atmosphere is so cozy and comfortable. Will definitely be back more often!
I tried the Korean fried cauliflower, bacon cheeseburger egg rolls, ribeye steak tacos, and fish tacos.
Food:
The Korean fried cauliflower was delicious, fried with a sweet garlic soy sauce, served with some mild gochujang sauce on the side. If you're looking for something healthy or spicy, this probably won't be right for you.
The bacon cheeseburger egg rolls order includes two rolls, each cut in half. It comes with comeback sauce on the side, which tasted like ketchup, mayo, and maybe a few other ingredients mixed together. The skin of the rolls had a nice light crisp. The rolls were absolutely delicious, at the cost of consuming a lot of grease.
The tacos had generous portions of protein in them, but they weren't standouts to me. The tacos are made with cold soft flour shells, which I would have preferred heated. The steak also could have used a little more seasoning, but it does come with some very spicy habanero sauce on the side. The fish was the better option in my opinion. Each order is served with a side of rice and beans which was made perfectly fine.
Service:
Our server, Taylor, immediately greeted me as I walked in and was friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout our hour there. She checked in regularly despite being the only server and bartender for about five groups of diners on an early Tuesday evening.
Overall:
For a bar, their food was definitely above average. I wouldn't hesitate to return and try their other menu items.
GET THE KOREAN CAULIFLOWER!!!!!
Had the steak bites & they were delish!!!! Everything was so tasty and the service was top notch!!!!
Cozy place. The food was tasty (we ordered a steak tips). The staff was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was also very nice. In general, we were pleased to visit this place🍺
Love this cute little place. Doing the best they can with COVID-19 on the loose. Gotta order food to get a drink but they’re takeout is homemade eats and I think it’s the kind of local place that’s worth keeping around through this.
Nice local pub. Good food. Enjoyed the Guinness and Jameson Sour
Total home run of a pub. They have a wildly diverse dinner menu that's really fun and excellent, covering pub classics and funny experimental appetizers. The drinks were generous and well made, and the prices overall were reasonable for the city. The place was clean and had a nice atmosphere, felt like a nice neighborhood bar with a fresh coat of paint. Will be going again soon!
Food was tasty, fresh. Loved the look of the place with the stained glass and wood. They had plenty of beer. Lunch was reasonable. We felt the portions were a little small. Parking isn't the best.
Great food, service, and cocktails. One of my favorite bars to visit when I am in Boston. However, there is one bartender who's been there forever and is not friendly at all (she has blonde hair). I'm shocked she still works there. Although, the other bartenders are fantastic (Mark is first-class).
Easy local pub. My bf loves the beers on tap and the prosciutto pizza was amazing
