BHP!!!! My go to late night bar when I was in school. Great energy and great staff. Drinks are strong and well-priced. I have many fond memories of this place and you can too!

It’s hard to find places like this nowadays. The problem I had with a lot of boston bars is that they brought in undesirable characters. This bar was fun on a Thursday with karaoke and good energy. Small dance floor and everyone was very friendly. Would come back.

This is a decent dive bar frequented by college students, no frills kind of people, and MIT students who like to drink. MIT is on the other side of the Charles River. This is a dive’s bar dive bar!

This is a great place to grab drinks. I’ve never had the food here. This is more of a dive bar sort of environment. It’s cash only and they have an atm towards the front of the building. They have a loyal following and it can be busy (and fun) here on weekends. Definitely trying stopping in if you’re ever in the area!

Not a bad place to pop in and get a beer or mixed drink. Not sure of any food offerings as we only had a couple of drinks. It smells like a bar but I am ok with that.

Great bar dive bar right near the MBTA (Charles/MGH on the Red Line). I went on karaoke night which isn't typically my thing, but the drinks were affordable and the crowd was great. People seemed excited to be out and things seemed like they were back to normal. I was even convinced to hop on stage and perform and the crowd was very inviting and supportive. The karaoke DJ (I think his name was AJ) was also super cool, even throwing in harmonies and backing vocals during some of the songs! If you're looking for a cool dice car to relax, check this one out!

It was alright here, didnt realize this place gets soo packed at night especially on fridays, saturdays at night. I waited 40 mins to get in on a friday night and when i got in, there was barely any space to move around in there. The bouncers there are cool for the most part. Bartenders also pretty chill. I am just surprised to get from one side to another, it took at least 5-10 mins from all the people that was in there.

This hole in the wall was exactly what I needed. It’s tucked away in Beacon Hill and it’s a true dive bar! They make you buy a hot dog due to Covid regulations (must have food with drinks), but it’s a decent Bite. The darkness just adds to the vibe!

The BHP has been a constant for my friends since I moved to Boston almost 20 years ago. I remember (or not remember) many happy hours, birthdays, late nights, dart competitions, and last call stops at the BHP. The place was a true dive as you would have a combinations of salty regulars, local residents, young professionals and college kids. They didn't serve food, only took cash, over-poured mixed drinks, and had bathrooms that make porta-potties look like the better option. This is what makes it the best place to hang out. When I learned they were temporarily closing due to the fact it was sold to a development group, I almost cried. I had envisioned it being to changed to the dime a dozen hipster bars that already plague Boston. When it reopened, I was pleasantly surprised. They kept the look the same (maybe cleaned it up a bit, which isn't the worst thing in the world), and have added some events such as trivia nights and comedy shows. All in all, it didn't feel like much had been changed.

Best bar in Boston! Seriously makes you feel at home if you’re used to a bar that treats you like family and let’s your come in as you are. After a week of visiting the city, I chose to go here to end my night every time! Just remember it’s cash only!
