First time trying this place, after it came recommended by a neighbor who is from Rome. We walked in and there was a huge Italian family having a holiday dinner—which is a very good sign. The owner chatted with us for a bit, telling us about the history of the neighborhood and tales of old. The restaurant has been a North End staple for ages, but often overlooked by tourists who stick to the well trodden path (which I think makes it all the more charming!) I loved this hidden gem, everyone was very warm and inviting, the wine flowed and the food was good. I will definitely go back!

I love Italian food and am always looking for the best Italian around, and this restaurant is the best I’ve had in so long! Pino, the owner and chef, is amazing. He is the best host and an amazing chef. I had such a great time here, and can not wait to come back! We all absolutely cleared out plates

This is our favorite hidden gem of the North End. Chef/Owner Pino Irano serves up authentic Italian cuisine that never disappoints; try the Farfale Cardinale or the Veal Valdosta (our personal favorites). Perfect for a quiet dinner for two or four larger get-togethers.

Truly such a hidden gem! I was told to check out Boston’s little Italy and this was close to the wharf but down a sweet little street. The house wine was very good and the house special of cod with lemon and capers was truly amazing. I’m licking my plate. Good job!

This was an excellent low-key, but high quality Italian Restaurant. I ordered the Vitello Parimigana, which was delicious veal parm with pasta. I also ordered a great side salad. For desert, I would totally recommend the house-made tiramisu, which tasted incredible. Everything at this restaurant was delicious. I also really enjoyed the Italian atmosphere, with great Italian music playing. The staff was also very friendly and made great conversation. Everything about this restaurant was very pleasant. I 100% recommend dining here.

Definitely a hidden gem! Had a wonderful time and even better meal at Piccolo Nido. The food was fresh, the service was astounding. Pino, the owner, truly cares about given his customers a true authentic experience. Do not leave without having the tiramisu! It was one of the best I have ever had.

My new favorite restaurant in the North End. This is one of those wonderful small places, most of which are unfortunately disappearing, where after you’ve gone once, Pino (the owner) will remember your name. The staff is so delightful and welcoming, and the food is superb! Can’t wait to go back!

This restaurant embodies the absolute best of the North End. Amazingly fresh ingredients, served with great care, by a family who puts immense passion into the food! The best of the North End by far!

Just go. I stayed in the North End on a girls trip over Labor Day weekend. Our apartment was 2 doors down from Piccolo Nido so we decided to give it a shot. We were all so glad we did!! We had an amazing dinner and ended going back twice after that! The owner/chef, Pino, was incredible and his entire staff was outstanding! They really made us feel like old friends and family. I can’t wait to come back to Boston. When I do, I’ll be having dinner here again.

Do I dare tell you it is delicious? One of my favourite restaurants in the North End. A cozy, homey atmosphere with excellent service. Pino will make a custom dish to suit your dietary needs. He has gluten-free pasta and can serve vegetarians too. Off the beaten path - dine here away from the tourists and the feeding frenzy for a relaxing meal with the classic flavors for many regions of Italy.
