The Gallows

Perfect go to for brunch. Located next to the majestic cathedral, place gas cool views and great food. Skillet was very tasty, and service was ok. Place gets quite busy, so prepare to wait a bit. Drink side quality was good too, despite the fact that I got cold cup of coffee. Mimosas tasted good, also Bloody Mary’s were great, specifically the spicy one. Lot of good looking people around, so date is a good idea here, or just go as an single! Recommended and worth while going!😊

Visited here for Sunday brunch as was not disappointed. Had a cold brew coffee and the breakfast tacos. I was concerned that the pickled cabbage in the tacos would be weird but it was an excellent contrast from the scrambled eggs and sour cream. Potatos were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Place filled up fast and would make reservations if later than 11. Had I been there later in the day would have tried some of the alcoholic drinks people were enjoying around me. Definitely will visit again.

I loved this place! The food was great and the design of the restaurant was pretty unique. I went on a Sunday for brunch and even though the place was packed, my friend and I didn't even have to wait for a table which was a good sign. We both ordered the fried chicken and pancakes and absolutely loved it. The service was absolutely amazing too. Our waiter was incredibly friendly, knew the menu well, and extremely accommodating for my friend's food preferences. I would absolutely recommend you go here.

Their brunch menu is amazing. I had an everything DONUT sandwich with sausage, egg, and cheese. It was amazing! Also. When I go here I usually get the falafel burger. It is so delicious. It’s packed with so much taste! i mean, just look at that burger! It’s a great option for any vegetarian. Also, they have pesto fries which are an absolute must.

Had a great time at The Gallows for Halloween night dinner - the decor was spooky but the staff was inviting and the food was delicious! The drinks were varied but each seemed well thought-out, and the burger was amazing. Highly recommend getting poutine too, the side added to a burger is more than enough too! Would recommend for any night, especially if you are looking to make it a little more spooky 👻

Do not miss this gem. Took my niece here after a day of shopping. The atmosphere is fantastic--I'm a big horror fan--and the service was great. I had the Parisienne Gnocchi with the Bacon Maple Brussel Sprouts. It was just so damn delicious! I was in heaven. And the bacon with the brussel sprouts is slab bacon, which was perfect for this dish. My niece had a cheeseburger with a fried egg and cheese fries, which was tasty and hit the spot for comfort food. We ended the meal with the one and only dessert on the menu, the stoners delight. While not the fanciest dessert on the planet, it hit the spot and made me happy I tried it. It was good, but it didn;t knock my socks off the way the main coarse did.

I'd prefer to lie and say this place is awful cuz I want it all to myself, but perhaps I shouldn't do that. This place is one of my favorite cocktail bars in Boston and the food is great. The servers are friendly and attentive even when it's busy. The nearby South End Burying Ground has roughly ~10k graves, mostly unmarked. At least some of those buried there were likely criminals, as the city's gallows were also located there. I assume this bar/restaurant is named for those nearby gallows, and I really appreciate that little nod to history. If you're somebody who gets a kick out of morbid stuff, you'll like the theme of the restaurant (giant Ouija board on the wall) and the cocktails' names. Not overdone tho, they keep it classy.
