The history AND the food are off the charts! I had wanted to visit for the history alone, but the Dragon won me over!
I try the clam chowder everywhere I go. The Dragon's is near the top of the list. It's somewhat sweet with juicy chunks of clams. Nice consistency, too.
My main was the shepherd's pie. The gravy had a good meaty taste that pulled the dish together. The potatoes, meat, and vegetables were all excellently cooked.
I finished with the Boston cream pie. Coated in chocolate and drizzled with chocolate sauce... awesome!
I can't wait to go back!
I was in town for a wedding and decided to check this place out. A lot of history I did not know of prior to my visit. I walked in just expecting to get a beer. However this place has a rich history. I had their Green Dragon beer and the fish n chips. Prior to my food coming out I had a cup of clam chowder. Overall, delicious AF! It wasn’t crowded and service was on point. I recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area. People come to Boston to visit some historical sites, I come for the bars. This one had history and it’s definitely worth it.
Great place to grab a drink along the Freedom Tour. The Green Dragon Tavern is rich in history, named after the bar that played an important part of American history and Paul Revere’s famous ride. They offer a menu of pub fare and have a great selection of cocktails and beer. Enjoy a pint and learn some Boston history.
A really cool Irish pub with an extensive history. We only got drinks and sat at the bar. Got served right away, our bartender was attentive and friendly. They also have a bunch of tables with wait staff if you prefer to dine.
The bar wasn't very loud either, we are able to converse without screaming.
Nice historical restaurant to visit. Food was pretty good especially the Clam chowder. Lots to looks at in a friendly environment and plenty of seating while we were here.
It's a nice place with amazing history, this Irish pub offer excellent 🎶 music. The food is good as well.
I've wanted to stop in here ever since I saw the exterior of this place walking the Freedom Trail one day. I saw a picture posted somewhere of their bangers and mash, and it had to happen sooner rather than later. The place has an amazing history, is quite cozy, and the Boston Bangers and Mash were excellent. I also really enjoyed the Green Dragon Tavern ale.
I plan to stop back whenever I'm in the area.
We went for dinner. I had a chicken Caesar wrap and fries. It was good. A member of our party had the shepherd's pie which they enjoyed. We had a pretzel appetizer which was very good. We also had a drink with dinner. I tried Paul Revere's Ride for something different, but it just wasn't for me. One person in our party had the revolutionary margarita. A peachy flavor was mentioned, but they enjoyed it.
We loved eating here, great historic atmosphere, food, and service.
Went in for a pint. Bartender was very nice. Atmosphere is close to traditional Irish. Would go back
