This place was a little gem of a find. Travelling back to Carlisle stopped off for some food on way home. So pleased we did.
The best fish cake I have ever tasted, Cumberland sausage and mash was to die for and as for the banoffee pie. Wow!!
First class service from the minute we walked in the door. Would highly recommend a visit. Restaurant quality food all very reasonably priced. Best meal out in a long time and we will definitely be back. Thanks so much x

Called in having not booked. It was busy but they were able to fit us in.
Had to chase the food order, and they were very apologetic. When it arrived it was delicious. Would definitely go back.

Food delicious, we had the Indian Burrito and the Salmon .. yummy, friendly service, we ate in the bar area as we had our dog which was fine but it was quite cold especially when the band left the doors open to bring in their gear! Lovely place 😊

We stayed nearby and had a lovely dinner here one Saturday evening, food was excellent, service was great, the staff were brilliant accommodating our requests, lovely home cooked, good quality meals and stylish yet traditional decor inside

We stopped at the pub as we were at a christening after party. The pub is modernized and smart but still keeps it’s old charm. The food we had was well cooked and we had plenty of it.
The owners have done a great job of modernizing and the rooms are stylish ,spotless and very comfortable with a personal touch.A home away from home!.
The staff are very friendly and professional and we didn’t have to wait long before we had a drink in our hands.
We spent a good while out in the beer garden and I did feel that more could be made of it as it’s in a lovely quiet location and has a lot of potential to be landscaped and brought up to the standard of the exceptional interior of the pub(constructive criticism).
Great stay and I would recommend.
