Cadar Chimney Cakes

First time visiting today and first time having chimney cakes and I'm so glad I did, they were amazing! Both myself and my friend really enjoyed them, especially the cones. If you haven't tried them you really should at least once. The guy who makes them is so lovely too and definitely made us feel welcome. I will definitely be returning again in the future to try the other flavours.

22/06/22: had a lovely Biscoff Chimney Cake this afternoon, but sadly the savoury ham & cheese one wasn't available. Lovely, friendly service, definitely made with love and worth the short wait! An amzing warm doughy inside, crispy outside chimney, filled with good quality ice cream, topped with 2 biscoff bisuits and biscoff sauce! Chimney cakes, or Kürtőskalács, originated in Hungary a staple of street fairs, carnivals, and open-air markets. A sweet, freshly baked bread coated in butter and cinnamon-sugar. They date all the way back to medieval times, with the first written recipe found in a cookbook from the 1700's. The name refers to a stovepipe, or kürtő, since the cake is baked in the shape of a hollow cylinder. When it is served warm out of the fire, the steam rising from the cake resembles a hot chimney. Chimney cakes are made from a sweet yeast dough that is rolled into a long rope and baked around a cylinder/rolling pin. They are coated in melted butter and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar.

My first visiting Cadar Chimney cakes at The Vaults in Bolton. A lovely little place with the most fantastic member of staff. Everything was made and served fresh...he was a perfectionist making sure everything was neat clean and Instagram worthy :D. He also checked up on us making sure we enjoyed out dessert. Dont forget it's free Coffee with every dessert purchased before 2PM!!! I have already recommended this place to loads of friends and i will definitely be visiting again.

Untwirl that chimney cake at Cadar Chimney Cake This may very well be the only Chimney Cake in England, or at least that we know about. Chimney Cakes used to be primarily for Hungarian wedding cakes, which makes us happy learning about other cultures. So, Cadar Chimney Cakes decided to hook themselves into some additional culture and so opened their first shop in Bolton Market Place, one of the oldest in Britain. What goodies did we try; \Brownie Time Chimney Cone [£6.50] - One of their best selling and we understood why, with the chocolate goodness and the creamy ice cream in the coated chimney cake. The dark chocolate melted on the ice cream was pure bliss and the brownie pieces were so soft - yes please, and thank you \Pixie Chimney Cone [£8] - We got this primarily because it looked so pretty and cute in the picture. It’s the perfect option for those who love unicorn and pink items. \Large Kurtoskalacs/ Chimney Cake with mix nuts crumble [£5] - Whilst we were there, we had to try the classic option - the one without ice cream. It has a doughnut-like texture but not fried and the mix nuts crumble to make it that little less sweet. It’s made by twirling it all together and then you un-twirl it to eat it As a general tip, it’s quite a big portion so order responsibly - or not, if you’re like us :D Recommended for: Hungarian, Instagrammable, chimney cake One Thing: Creamy ice cream Price: £ Halal: Full menu (minus marshmallows)

Cadar Chimney Cakes in The Vaults at Bolton have revolutioned the traditional Hungarian Chimeny cake, Kürtőskalács. This already delicious dessert has been pimped out, a more conical cake allows for it to be filled with ice-cream and topped with enticing treats Chimeny are made from a doughnut-like dough, and baked around wooden cones giving them a unique shape and texture; the dough remains fluffy and due to no oil being used like with doughnuts. They originate from Hungarian-speaking regions of Romania and dates back to the mid 1400s. They are a part of culture and life, often baked for festivities and weddings The cones are coated in sugar and a glaze fomrs as they cook. The kitchen at Cadar's smelt incredible. Once removed from oven, steam puffs from the top.hence the name Pictured he is the Brownie time. This chocolate lovers dream is first dipped in metled chocolate and rolled in chocolate shavings to create the iconic rim on the cone. It is then fled with fresh vanilla Ice cream, topped with brownie chunks and then drizzled in melted Belgium and dark chocolate. Beautiful So how was it? Absolutely incredible. The ice-cream was so god-damn smooth wouldn't melt as it was encased in a chocolate shell. It's the actual chimney that does it for me though. The dough is just so fluffy it is unreal. I also enjoyed a plain chimeny cake, fresh out the oven and coated in cinnamon. It was special Finally, Cadar's Chimney cakes are going to be doing a food challenge.
