Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen

Went to Cheddar's for lunch with colleagues. They were flexible to handle different group sizes. The service was pretty good, Jennifer took care of us. The atmosphere was nice; a bit unique with the stylishly shaped fan spinning around. The food menu was pretty good. Their signature croissants are soooo amazingly delicious.

This location was close to my hotel and I was in town for several nights. I came here two nights in a row. Night one I had great service and a really good meal. Had the bone in ribeye, with mashed potatoes and gravy and broccoli & cheese casserole. Everything was delicious! Steak was cooked medium and so flavorful with the butter they had on top. Potatoes and gravy were tasty and the broccoli & cheese casserole was fantastic. Ate hearty as I watched Monday Night Football on my IPad. Night two, I again had really great service from my server. This night I had a house salad with the pot pie. Salad was good, nothing special and the pot pie looked amazing. It was good, but it was not great. Also had a piece of ice cream sundae cake which was chocolate cake with icing, fudge, whipped cream and nuts with a cherry and vanilla ice cream. It looked amazing and was just ok. The cake was a little stale and the icing had a slight taste that I did not care for. I picked off the icing and ate some of the fudge, whipped cream, and ice cream. Both meals started out with an honey butter croissant…they look and taste amazing! Since I am reviewing two nights and two meals, I think my visits averaged out to four stars.

This place never disappoints. It's good, hardy food. I love the butter croissants. 😋 We bought extra. My eyes were bigger than my stomach, and I may have ordered too much, but the servings were generous. The artichoke dip was very creamy, almost too much but delicious. The vegetable plate is where it's at. You can order all of your favorite sides.

I personally love their spinach dip! I got it every night I was here visiting for work. Wish they had more Chicago beer on tap, such as Goose Island or something similar. The bartenders were amazing. Very friendly waiting staff! Highly recommend! Yes, my food was half eaten when I remembered to grab a picture.

I use to live in Bolingbrook and Cheddar’s was our go to restaurant. We moved and I remember they shut down for a while to remodel. So I am basing my experience now verse last time. I got the chicken dijion with mushrooms. Red beans and rice with coleslaw. I also go carrot cake and croissant. Chicken was okay. I remember it tasting better. Maybe a different recipe. The red beans and rice did not taste how I remember. Maybe using a different type of rice. I remember it use to be spicy. Not much flavor now. Coleslaw okay. Not much flavor. Same for carrot cake and croissant. I would say maybe Covid had me lose my taste buds, but my other views says the words flavorful. I ordered on app and food was ready faster than I expected. FYI my mom order loaded potato but it was plain. Realized later the toppings was with my dessert. It should of been on it not on the side.

My son had a gift card so we ventured an hour and a half to use it at Cheddars & it was worth it!! He loved the honey butter croissants. First order is complimentary then 1.99 per every 2. He ordered 2 more of course! The combo appetizer was large portions of everything & my son had a burger & fries. Hot tasty food, clean establishment, very nice waitress too. We are happy to have tried it!!!

Place was really nice. We were in the area and stopped by, it was our first time visiting. The hostess at the door was nice, greated us and we're were seated within a couple of min. We had complementary croissant with honey -delicious! Our food was also delicious. Honestly can't complain much about the food. I did, however, remove one star because there were multiple occasions where the employees were either huddled together standing or sitting down at a nearby both and we're pretty loud. Not sure what that was about but otherwise a good experience. I would come back if in the area. Thanks.
