Despite it's modest exterior, Sushi Bar boasts the best sushi in Bloomington. Very fresh and quality fish, perfectly seasoned rice, and a decent albeit limited selection of Japanese beer and sake.

There are a lot of great places to get sushi in Bloomington. This is definitely one of them. Both their standard rolls and specialty rolls are good. They also have, for my money, the best salmon teriyaki in town. The katsudon is also a treat, but to be honest I don't think I've ever had anything I didn't like here.

This is a great spot to grab some excellent sushi. Lunch combos start at $6.99 and include a miso soup. I highly recommend it!

It took us 1 hour 15 minutes to get the two hand rolls and four additional rolls as seen below, and the dining room was at about 60% capacity! At 60%, it was very loud at times with people only speaking in normal voice tone.
The sushi was good but not enough for the wait. The menu offers 30% off of the prices but the prices have been elevated so that pricing is really no bargain...
All in all, Ami's remains our favirite place for sushi so far in Bloomington as the sushi is delicious, pricing the best we have found so far, atmosphere so much more pleasing and quiet, and one does not have to wait 2-3 times longer to get one's food as it takes one to eat it!

The sushi here is the best in Bloomington if you're looking for more traditional rolls that highlight the fish rather than burying it under sauces like so many Americanized places do. They have those Americanized rolls as well, and they're good if that's what you're looking for. Awesome local business with a great staff!

Got carryout for our anniversary, it was some of the best sushi I've ever had, and at half the price of other great sushi I have had.

Very friendly staff and an amazing menu where everything is deliciously prepared with care. I can not suggest to you enough the wow factor of the presentation here and the overall flavours and aromas are simply heavenly. If you choose any sushi or Japanese inspired restaurant in this city let it be this one.
