State Street Grill

Okay so State Street Grill. I truly enjoyed my experience at this establishment. My Lady and I went to have a nice simple Lunch. The food was very good. My lady got a Burger with fries. I think it was a Jack Daniels Burger (Not sure of the Name). She stated it was good the only thing is the coleslaw was not good. She felt it had a weird taste to it. Other than that she enjoyed her food. She had a smoothie with her food which was a Strawberry Peach Smoothie 10/10. Now for my food I had the "Authentic" Shrimp Taco's which were pretty much plain because that is how I like them. The only issue with my Taco's was the lime was under the cheese so it dried out my lime. I didn't like how they gave me four Taco's, however one taco was made in a flour tortilla when it should have been four corn tortilla's...if you ran out you should let the customer know...not just give the customer what you have left. I also had fries which were very good. I had a normal soda so nothing to write home about. Now I have this place a 3 star because of the Coleslaw and the Taco's were to be Authentic Mexican Taco's with the corn tortilla however I got a mixture. Plus the flies were a bit much around the table. Over all the experience was good the place is nice for groups or just a couple. You can talk without yelling across the table. The wait is not bad at all. We walked in and got seated. Our waitress was amazing!. She was very understanding to how I wanted my food and got it right with no issues!. She was very attentive to her table's!. I enjoyed her very pleasant!. This is a nice place I would recommend you go eat there.

We went last night to get dessert after the bakery we wanted to go to in Montclair was closed. We couldn’t get the dessert that we wanted because they didn’t have ice cream (yes ice cream is on the menu). So we both got the waffle topped with strawberry’s and whipped cream. I got a side of turkey bacon with mine. The waffles were HORRIBLE! They were super dry and very overcooked. I was shocked. How do you ruin a waffle?! There was no butter on them although there should have been. I mean they were disgusting. Syrup didn’t make them better. I took two bites, ate my turkey bacon and left. $30 wasted. My waitress was a sweetheart though.

Very disappointed! My coworkers and I ordered lunch expecting nothing more than fresh food. Well, we received the complete opposite. The food seem old. The fries were hard, as if they were cooked earlier and then reheated. We ordered 3 wraps and a burger. The bread for the burger was also old as it cracked and broke into pieces when you touched or bite into it. The lettuce was old and wilted

Yummy. Had a Classic Greek salad and had steak added on and it was perfect. A very sweet woman took care of us and advised she was new, yet she did a great job of being professional and very candid about her status. I’ve eaten here before, and haven’t had any complaints. Suggestion to consumers is wear a thin jacket or sweater because their central air is very very efficient 🥶🙂

I am normally quite happy and try to leave only positive reviews, especially during COVID but I have never had a worse dining experience in my life. I went here with family while it was practically empty, and it took the waitress at least 30 minutes to come by each time. A cheeseburger that had no cheese, elements missing from other orders. When brought up to the waitress, she brought a bowl of shredded cheese for the cheeseburger. Dessert was similarly bland and disappointing.
