Firehouse on the Run is in a perfect location for me. I live in Black Forest off of Hodgen; Firehouse on the Run is closer to me than anything on Interest Drive I have enjoyed sitting down inside for a quick bite; enjoying some fresh air on their covered patio or sometimes as the title says; I'm on the run. I understand prices have gone up; but they have everywhere else as well. I enjoy smoking meat however; I have no need to babysit meat for 14 hours; now that I have wonderful; tender; Texas BBQ just minutes from my home. I enjoy the brisket; ribs, chicken; links; and pulled pork. The sauces are great; and I really enjoy the jalapeño BBQ beans. I hosted a group at my home recently and Firehouse on the Run had all my meat ready on a Saturday morning and it was a big hit for my group. I would strongly recommend Firehouse on the Run for any catering needs you might have. The food was great; it was affordable; and they had everything ready on time. I was a firefighter for 15 years; and love that this place is owned by local firefighters. I'm a raving fan and Ill be back often.

We ordered the Family Pack #2 with double brisket. It’s was really good. The meat was sweet and tangy not too much smoke flavor. However I love the smoke flavor. Still great barbecue. The smell alone makes your mouth water. The first bite was like a tsunami hitting my mouth. Nothing like a down home bbq dinner. Great food

BBQ was excellent, staff was friendly, just some down right good Texas BBQ! We all had the brisket and was not disappointed Hot links are really good as well. Beans were good, definitely liked the Western Beans the best, green beans were not bad. This is our first time here and we will be back.

Staff were friendly. Meat was moist. My favorite was the brisket. I also tried the pulled pork and ribs. All of it was good. The burn onion bbq sauce was my favorite. I like sweet sauces over vinegar ones though. I also tried the sweet and tangy sauce. It was good too, but more on the vinegar side. We tried the special frito pie (think walking taco) and it was good. The red chili had good flavor and wasn't too spicy. The green bean were a little to spicy for my taste but we're good otherwise. And the potato salad tasted like what I grew up with, I enjoyed it. My SO had the hot link. I don't care for them so I'm not a good judge, lol, but I tried and and didn't hate it. Haha. They had an interesting mountain dew in the fountain machine I had never seen before. Goji and strawberry. We tasted it, it was sweet and interesting. Will definitely go back. The owner said they're having a crawfish boil on June 4th I believe. Sounds fun. The band they had at the last one will be coming back as well. We weren't able to stop by that day, but we did drive by. It made me laugh bc they were playing on the roof. Hah.

We stopped here yesterday after going to Cotton Blossom Caramel. I got the 2 meat platter with brisket and ribs and my grandfather got the brisket sandwich with potato salad. Our food was fantastic though my grandfather did not know their potato salad came with hot sauce as it was our first time. They replaced it without hot sauce and after that he loved it. We will be back for sure as all of the food was delicious.

Try the BBQ brisket, some of the best BBQ around here. Moist meat, not like some places with their dry brisket. The house BBQ Sauces add a tasty final touch in 3 choices. Pork, hot link, crawfads and sides round out the selections available. Potato salad, coleslaw, nice touches. Nice rustic stop in Black Forest.

Best BBQ in the Springs. I ordered family meal 2 and it was worth every penny! The hot links were HOT, the brisket was moist and flavorful and the sides were delicious (green beans, potato salad, and the western beans?). The bbq sauces we tried one was sweet and tangy the other was spicy! So be careful if you’re not down for spice. We’ll be back for sure.

The burnt onion BBQ sauce in itself is WORTH the drive out here. Pulled pork is great. Seating outside is nice. A sweet little joint that reminds me of the south. Lovely staff.
