This is my favorite Mexican spot in Birmingham. For your typical average priced Mexican food dinner, it is well beyond average. The ingredients and care in preparation for a $7 plate of tacos as well as the salsa were impressive. If I have to nitpick, I'll say that the dining room and ambiance could use a little work. My experience with service has been wonderful. However, there seems to be a little bit of a grimy feeling sitting inside and outside your best view is of the other parts of the strip mall. That said, I'm hard pressed to go anywhere else for a taco fix.
So Pablo's is your typical dirty Mexican restaurant. However their ambiance and service are exceptional. Sitting under "the tree of life" is a relaxing fun time. Even in 90 degree heat, the shade and breeze are enjoyable. My mom has Alzheimers and they went out of their way to care for her. Our servers are always exceptional. Food wise, I had the veggie quesadilla, and it was tasty. My mom had the southwestern rolls, and she loved them. She is pictured here with the birthday fried ice-cream experience :-)
This was our first visit and it was great!!! We had great service and our food was wonderful. Our server was Saul and he was very attentive. We ate outside under the huge tree. We will certainly be back and we will tell our friends about this restraurant.
New Exciting Menu!. Ordered take-out from their lunch menu yesterday. Ordered the Seafood Tacos that comes with grilled tilapia or shrimp - I chose the shrimp. The two tacos came with a bed of lettuce & pico, a side of rice and side of grilled veggies. Everything was great - and the staff there are as friendly as can be. I can't wait to go back and sit on their patio when weather permits. I love the fact that they have live music on their patio.
Pablo's new Street Tacos are great. If you like street taco's, be sure to check out Pablo's... Steak or Chicken, nestled in a corn tortilla, topped with fresh cilantro and onions, served with a side of tomatillo salsa and lime wedges - simple, tasty, and satisfying.
The deck is great on a good weather day. The steak burrito was tasty. Many compliants about the service In other reviews but ours was good.
Fun but poor service. Great atmosphere but service is lacking. I had to track my server down to get drink refills. It is nice sitting on the tree deck listening to live music.
Best Mexican food in Bham!. I absolutely love Pablo's. Indoor and outdoor seating. Live acoustic music occasionally on the weekends, esp in the summer months. Great margaritas at an awesome price. Cheese dip is as good as Superior Grill's. Fresh ingredients in salsa. Also have a black salsa that's amazing. If you love chicken, try the Guadalajera plate!!!
Great!. The chicken fajita quessadilla was great! Service was good and the atmosphere was nice. Great margaritas too! Try the mango!
Good Execution. The food is your typical Tex-Mex; however, the service is typically very good and friendly.
