Some decent Mexican food. Although the fare is typical, what sets this place apart is that their chicken fajitas are perfectly seasoned and tender. Often the chicken can be overcoooked and dry, but not so at El Cazador.
We've been eating here most every Thursday night for 10 plus years. The service is great, the prices are reasonable and the food is really good. Thursday they have fajita, margarita and beer specials. They have great frijoles negra(black beans) as well.
Great tex-mex. If you are looking for American Tex-Mex, this place is great. I almost always get the Pollo a la Mexicana: grilled chicken, sauteed with tomatoes, onions, and jalapenos, and finished with a handful of fresh cilantro. It is served with flour or corn tortillas, rice and beans. They have a 32 oz draught dos equis amber here. That is a quart of beer! My friend swears by the chicken wings as the best in town.
Good Mexican Food. I have never had a bad experience here. Staff are good, and fast. the food is moderate price but you get more food than you can eat. Excellent taste, and authenticity. The Pollo Creama I highly recommend, the Chile Rellenos are also excellent. Chips and Salsa are free and good.
Very extensive menu with lunch pricing. I highly recommend El Cazador the next time your in the mood for Mexican food.
The chicken soup was to die for! Great broth, tender chicken, rice, slices of avocado and fresh lime to squeeze! Our server was delightful.
Love to eat here. One of my favorite spots for Mexican food. I havent had anything that I didn't like and I have been eating here for years. Their prices are very reasonable and it is a fun place to eat with the outdoor dining area. I noticed that one of the reviews stated worst chili rellenos but I personally think it is the best chili relleno I have ever eaten. It is not at all greasy like some that are deep fried. In fact, it is one of my favorites on the menu.
Small town Mexican. This place 100% reminds me of the Mexican restaurants in my rural Georgia hometown: the food, decor and even the candy buckets at the register are the same. This is reliable, tasty, inexpensive small town Mexican in a "festive" atmosphere. My favorite touch is the World's Most Interesting Man cut-out hanging out by the colorfully painted fireplace. I mean, what's not to love? Queso is it's own food group, right? Seriously, their chicken enchiladas with rice and beans and tomatilla salsa are delicious. Might be hard to stay away now that I know that I can continue my once-a-week Mexican habit. Just like home!
Hallelujah for good taste!. Salvation!
This is by far the best Mexican restaurant in the Birmingham area. The workers are really nice, the food is fantastic, and their margarita's are magnificent. Every time I go I am never disappointed. Their vegetarian selection is great! Their burrito is also fantastic! If you love overly cheesed food, rice, and alcohol then this is your place to go! So....go!
Solid!. Very reliable, great tasting, tex-mex restaurant. Good service, good prices and the food is always great. The chicken and beef is actual visible and not your usual shredded mystery meat. Not a gourmet restaurant, but perfect for what it is. Good, solid, mexican food.
The Caz!. Don't go to El Caz expecting a mindblowing culinary experience...it is what it is, relatively inexpensive Mexican fare and strong maragaritas served in a poorly decorated former Western Sizzler turned Milo's Hamburgers turned Mexican joint. What The Caz lacks in atmopshere or James Beard winning cuisince though it makes up for with a fun and friendly atmosphere. You can't have a bad time at El Caza and if you're a local, you're nearly guranteed to see 10 people you know everytime you visit. El Cazador never disappoints by being true to itself.
My family and I have been dining here for over 10 years. There's no other Mexican restaurant I prefer than this one. The owner and staff are courteous, professional, and prompt. I love that I see the same faces today that I saw when I first visited. The food and drinks are amazingly delicious. I recommend this restaurant to all who live or visit the Crestwood area.
Was really impressed with this place. Inside was nice and food was better than other chains in the area. That 48oz marg was only $16 on a weekend, seriously more than 5 drinks... cheese dip was huge 8.5 and lunch specials all under $9. Great prices and quality, would recommend the flautas and chimichanga
Great place to eat, great atmosphere, and people the food was delicious and they give you plenty of it. If you haven’t tried it this is the place to be and not expensive at all it’s worth every dime!!
This is my go-to mexican that's close to my house. The queso is good. The food is great. And the margaritas refreshing. I pretty much ALWAYS get the chicken fajita quesadilla dinner and it's always so yummy.
Excellent food and service

Their Texas margaritas are tasty and strong!! U can't go wrong with the enchiladas and some fried ice cream
