Zorro is off the beaten path traveling I65 below Birmingham.. Stopped in Dales for true southern fare!! Chicken dressing, black eyed peas with Mac/cheese. The dressing was moist, grilled chicken not to dry.. black eyed peas have a smoky earth taste with a hint of salt- just right!! If you are in this area, make sure that you stop!! Definitely a southern gem

Another favorite close to home!! Love the waitresses, the manager and all of the people who work there! Best meat and three around and the size of the menu is unbelievable! If you've never tried this, you are in for a treat! Try the pot roast or the country fried steak! Cranberry salad and bran muffins, also
Great southern food and service...carrot soufflé was amazing
The shrimp and grits and peach cobbler excellent
We stop in at dales whenever we're in town
The food was really good. It tasted home made. I had meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and cabbage. The sauce on the meatloaf was too sweet for what I like, but it was good. The sweet tea wasn't good.
Excellent! Great food, good value.
Had blue plate special. Actually on a blue plate! Quick service. Will be back soon with Dad and Mary.
This is one of the best soul-food restaurants in the city. The food is always good, there are a plethora of choices (even if you don't like heavy food) and the prices are very reasonable. It's a quaint restaurant that almost feels upscale, without the sophisticated prices.
Basic old school comfort food. Popular with The Greatest Generation and aging Boomers (like myself).
Hit or miss with Dale's. So, I used to live on 280. At one point my whole family had a love affair with Dale's but we go back and forth on it. I don't live close now so we rarely go anymore, but we went pretty often when we first moved to 280 and sometimes it was awesome and sometimes it was mediocre. The service is usually pretty good and the atmosphere is nice. I do wish they'd kind of specify that they lean more towards a gulf/Cajuny kind of Southern, cause most of what they have isn't North Alabama Southern, so if you are lookin' for fried chicken and biskits this might not be your place.
Always wonderful. The food is wonderfu! The service is wonderful. I don't understand the bad reveiws. If you go there you have to try the carrot souffle and the broccoli salad. They are both out of this world! And it's not just a place that old people like. Everyone in my office likes to eat there!
Good. Dale's is a pretty good place to get vegetables. Nothing spectacular, but with so few meat and veggie restaurants in town, it is one of our go-to restaurants.
