We love this place! Every time we go they are super busy so get there early! The food is always great and there wine selection is like none I’ve every seen! The wait staff is always very nice and knowledgeable.
Ooh anniversary dinner date hotspot! Reservations are a must as is valet parking at this neighbourhood fine dining restaurant! Having fine-dined and farm-dined and pizzeria-dined in Italy and England (where the best food is Italian) I wasn't impressed with Gianmarco's take on Italian fine-dining. Sorry. But I'll never pass up a chance to sip or dine at the wine bar in the back! They carry my favourite white wine, Riff, that I've not found anywhere outside of one other restaurant in New Orleans. Also great Port options! Great atmosphere too.
This year... We had our company Christmas Dinner at GianMarco's! They prepared a fabulous special menu with a few of their popular favs: ribeye, rack of Lamb, grouper, and lasagna! The food was good and the private dining service was personable as expected! I was mostly impressed with the constant appetizer service. We were not expecting to get tray after tray of samplings. The miniature crab cakes were soooo good. Our overall experience was great! The only negative was the lack of cleanliness of the restroom. I was shocked. But thankfully I'd already enjoyed dinner and had a few glasses of wine. I didn't bother to complain.
Very nice Italian place. A little hard to find on a backstreet in Homewood. The food is absolutely delicious. The restaurant opens for a limited number of hours, just make sure you check the opening hours before going there.
Fabulous food, loved our waiter Cagel. He was so informative and good. I know what sweet bread is now thanks to him. The drinks from the bar was also very good.
Gian marcos is simply the best! Amazing food accompanied by the MOST AMAZING wait staff. It's no secret however, you'll need a reservation. I'd recommend the fiocchi (pear and gorgonzola stuffed pasta) and the pistachio crusted goat cheese as apps. For entrees the 4 cheese rigatoni is so rich it's to die for! The eggplant parm is also always a good go to.
Gian Marcos is my go to for Italian dining. My husband and I choose to only eat in the wine shop. It is more of a relaxed environment than the main restaurant, the wine is market price, and it's first come first serve. The menu and specials are the same as the main restaurant. We absolutely love the servers! I can honestly say I have never had a bad experience or dish. I personally love the 4 cheese pasta and you can't go wrong with the spaghetti, but if one of the specials sound good...get it! Really, you can't go wrong here!
Great food, wonderful wine selection, fantastic service. It doesn't get much better than this! The wine bar is great, but if you want to sit in the restaurant, best to make reservations
Best Italian restaurant in Birmingham. I have been here a few times, and my favorite so far is the veal chop parmigiana with rigatoni. It's a big serving but good!
Went there for the first time a few weeks ago. We sat in the wine room which I've heard is a little more casual and easier to get a reservation at. The food was amazing and the wine was at retail price which was awesome. Great food and even better wine selection. May be my favorite spot in Birmingham.
